The margherita is my go to when I'm trying a new pizzeria and theirs is superb. The crust, fresh buffalo and basil are all great but what sets them apart from all the others, even the acclaimed rose pizzeria around the corner, is the tomato sauce. Disappointing. After reading the many reviews praising this place, perhaps our expectations were too high. The service was very competent and attentive. A real problem was the almost intolerable noise level. As far as the meal, what stands out was the underwhelming squash and black truffle pizza. The margherita pizza is so delicious. i literally only order it everytime, to the point that they know my name with my order HAHA. super authentic, delicious, and the staff are really friendly as well. I'm lucky to be able to go as often as I do, and i love the food here so much!! Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
I was up on Shattuck at the Pillerbox Auditorium for day 1 of the 5 day Rickin-Sticktillian Debate, and Lecture on the pitfalls of attending any of the UC campuses particularly UC Berkeley! Being just right around the corner from the restaurant Lucia's of Berkeley was a huge bonus because I could just walk over there and leave the trunk parked in Hobo John's driveway. I'll tell you..it was a big surprise to see a 1%er motorcycle club running the security there, but not as big of a surprise as the chicken pasta in alfredo sauce I enjoyed from Lucia's kitchen..it was Amazing. 5 stars all day long. Celiacs/gluten-intolerants, rejoice! The BEST Gluten Free Neapolitan pie does exist in the Bay Area. No need for other words, go try it out yourself.
We truly enjoyed our experience here. The food was top notch, but we left praising the service. Our waiter was patient, informative, and accommodating. Our table of 7 felt at home cozied up to the pizza oven while enjoying appetizers, personalpizzas, and lastly, affogatos we did not want to leave. A very Italian experience.
Our Italian friend recommended and took us to this place, so you know the pizzas here are pretty legit. We didn’t even realize the pizzas are gluten-free until we read the reviews. The servers were friendly, but the place is super busy. So we waited fora while to make the order and get our food.
It was easy to find seating on a Sunday afternoon, but be aware that there may be larger crowds before and after nearby shows. The crust was excellent, especially on the Norma pizza with a great topping combination. There were also some tasty vegetarian options available. The Aperol spritzers were very refreshing.
We had a great time at this restaurant. The food was top-notch, and we were impressed by the excellent service. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our party of 7 felt very comfortable sitting next to the pizza oven while we enjoyed our appetizers, personal pizzas, and finally, affogatos. We were so satisfied that we didn't want to leave. It was a truly authentic Italian dining experience.

Pizza is quite good BUT the bottom of the crust is unfortunately floppy and the dough lacks salt. If they could sort this out, and give us some crisp crust, this place would be so much better. Quite expensive as well for what it is.
Been here several times and the pizza is amazing. Quick, great service, and consistently good food and drinks! We’ve sat at both the bar and a table and enjoyed both experiences. We’ve never had a reservation and always seemed to get a seat, but recommend making one if you’re a group of more than 2 just to be sure you get in, as it’s a small spot!
Stunning. A16/Una quality pizza without the pretense. Excellent pastas also. When I go here, I order two more meals to go for later. If you like Napoli pizza, don’t miss this. Gluten free dough reportedly great also. Dietary restrictions: Excellent gluten free dough
We absolutely love this place for gluten free pizzas! My partner is celiac so finding safe gluten free places in the Bay has been tricky especially with pizza. Often the gluten free pizzas are thrown into the same ovens that are covered in flour and thus, contaminating gluten free pizzas. This establishment has its own dedicated pizza oven for gluten free pizzas to eliminate cross-contamination. Not only do they get high marks from us for safety but also, for taste!! Their gf pizza dough will leave you so satisfied, you couldn’t even tell the difference.Many thanks to Lucia’s for making pizza, such a delicious (and safe! experience for gluten free and celiac folks, who thought we would have to give up such a delicious treat for good… Thank youuuuu again! My friend and I had dinner and drinks here on a Saturday night, the place was packed and we were happy to get places. The menu marked the vegan options. There is a lot to choose. From pasta to pizza and even appetizers. The pizza we chose is the Norma. The eggplant was so tender and delicious! The crust was perfect. The drinks were delicious! Service was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back.
Great service, delicious food. $10 Brussels appetizer, they put the prosciutto on the side for my husband. Many good options. Mock dicks were nice
I don’t know what took me so long to go here but their pizza is great! I’m a big fan of Bare Nuckle in Oakland but if that’s too far this is an equally great option. Wish they had more pizzas though and they were less money. However, if you want real pizza in Berkeley, this is it.
Great spot in Berkeley . Really enjoyed the atmosphere and not full of Berkeley snobs . Friendly staff and not too busy .
4 stars simply because they not all vegan place, but very vegan friendly, we like the vegan Margherita

Delicious for gluten and gluten-free! my MIL said this was the best gluten-free pizza she had. Maybe the best pizza ever. delicious food, great ambience. little pricy, but would come back as a special treat.

Cute litte pizza&pasta spot in the heart of Berkeley. You can sit both indoors/outdoors, they have plenty of delicious food and drink options. Really friendly and helpful staff
It can get super busy here, so be prepared with patience! Coming from Europe, I’d say the Italian food here is brilliant, and really worth the time you wait, the money you spend, as well as some of the chaos some people complained about (personally I never encountered those issues here). The people working here are also super nice, when you are not sure what to order, ask their advices, it can’t go wrong!

Positively the best pizza I’ve ever had. Freshest ingredients sourced locally and from the home country. Love the Gluten Free option for both pizza and pastas. Highly recommend.
Nice little restaurant. Eating wasn't what I expected. It was just okay. A little on the meat sauce. My friend and I have the pesto noodles I wouldn't recommend. It was basically a large bowl of noodles with pesto. It wasn't so good. Also the green salad was blazing. Not much in it, but green, and dressing was tasteless. The place was recommended to me so that we brought friends. We were all disappointed. Finally, the Diet Coke I ordered came as an Italian diet Coke and it was not very good. I could have given a better recommendation. Our server was very nice and who answered the phone in the morning was great. He called me back to answer my questions about eating and playing.
Lucia’s Berkeley is an awesome restaurant and pizzeria. The food is truly authentic Italian. The pizza is always cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of char and crunch on the crust. The cheese is perfectly melted, the toppings are delicious and the pizza is always served piping hot.
The pizza was delicious. I felt like I had been transported to Rome.
The acoustics aren’t great in here so it’s loud on a Friday evening. The waiter was rushed—bordering on the unfriendly—and the food comes out in record-time. We had two starters and two pizzas and the food is tasty. The pizza crust is soft vs, ya know, crusty. It might be what they were going for. All in all, not a bad option next to a college campus, but nothing to go out of your way for either.
