Gold Leaf Cafe - Berkeley
Gold Leaf Cafe
Description
Nestled conveniently in the East Bay, this charming coffee shop attracts a mix of patrons with its inviting decor and notable coffee offerings. The menu features highlights like the creamy matcha latte and limited-edition specials, complemented by a selection of Boichik bagels. While the ambiance is visually appealing, many visitors express disappointment with the unfriendly service and the lack of comfortable seating, particularly due to closed areas and the absence of WiFi. Despite these drawbacks, those who appreciate flavorful drinks and a cozy atmosphere may find it a worthwhile stop while exploring local flavors.

A sweet little place to get coffee! the golden accented, gallery wall and chalkboard add a glamorous yet friendly note. I prefer to order the drip coffee or a cortado. boren by mother tongue are available for purchase and employees can grind them for them. they have often made house syrups, like earthy or cinnamon, available to live their latte too. they serve deliciousies of firebrand and are dog friendly!
It’s cute inside and the staff were nice but the coffee was awful! I got a cappuccino which only had macro foam and tasted super acidic. I will not be back.
I completely agree with those who said that this place is terrible. The coffee is decent, but the croissant I ordered was awful. The entire upper floor is closed, leaving no comfortable seating inside. Additionally, there is no WiFi available, which should be noted as I wouldn't have brought my computer here to work. There is also no space to sit and socialize with friends. The staff is unfriendly, with no greetings or warmth. While the interior decor is lovely, it doesn't make up for the overall unpleasant experience. This is a place to avoid at all costs.
