Reviews - Fondue Fred
Reviews summary
A visit to this restaurant provides a unique and cozy experience in an old warehouse setting with a cool interior. Despite the minor hiccup of a longer wait time upon arrival, the food was delicious and very filling. The fondue options are commendable and served quickly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a variety of dining occasions. While some guests experienced issues with wait times and food quality, overall, the majority of reviewers recommend this restaurant for its good food, great service, and reasonable prices. Consider giving this place a chance for a tasty meal in a cozy setting.

The fondue at this restaurant is tasty and the atmosphere is cozy. However, we experienced long wait times, both for the waiter to take our order and for our food to be served. Despite this, it's a great place to enjoy with friends and family! View all feedback.
What Mark dislikes about Fondue Fred:
My family has been visiting this restaurant for years, so when I heard it was closing, I decided to go one last time to reminisce about the old days. The atmosphere had a nostalgic feel, and not much seemed to have changed. The fondue was excellent, and I really enjoyed my time there. View all feedback.

This was our first time going here! It was a slow night, Wednesday and I have to say, I loved the environment and the service was awesome. Portions are HUGE so don't think you need to order a lot. Located in. A cute little indoor plaza. It's a uniqueexperience.
I absolutely love this place ! The owners are pretty awesome to! I've came here on a date a few years back (were still together) and the cozyiness atmosphere(I love eatting outdoors) was terrific even if you want a to dine outside its still some what in aclosed area so it's no windy. I've lost count how many times I've came here, even double dated here too.
Don't waste your money, eat someplace else. I went here for a birthday dinner party of 16. They must get parties a lot because there is an option to get an all-you-can-eat with or without unlimited wine. The whole table has to pick the sameall-you-can-eat option, so we chose option #2 for $37 a head. I hope you read this before you go because the servers are almostnon-existent, they can only handle one request at a time (i.e., if 1 person asked for a drink then they go get that and thenasked for the next persons drink order) so they won't be around to answer any questions. It included salad, 5 fondues, veggies, bread, potatoes, 1 chocolate fondue and 3 types of wine. We chose the Goodies, Fiesta, Garlic cheese fondue and the beef andchicken fondue. We wanted the Blue Cheese but they were out. The meat fondues were cooked meats in sauces that were just keptwarm over the sterno candles. You are NOT given hot oil and raw meats to cook yourself. The meats were tender, but just weirdthat they were already cooked and in sauces of only 1 flavor option. The Garlic fondue was very strong. The Fiesta was bland. The Goodies had the most flavor. The veggies were cut in large chunks and were raw. The potatoes were cooked in a seasoning ofsome sort which was disgusting. The chocolate was ok, but they never came to replenish the dippers and only brought 3 chocolatepots for 16 people. That is not all-you-can-eat. I forgot to mention the salad, it was despicable. All of the wine was clearlyfrom a box, and I would guess an old box at that. Did I mention we were sitting in an outdoor courtyard at night in January? Iasked them to bring another outdoor heater, but they said they were broken. I cannot find a reason to ever come back here.

This restaurant is excellent, situated in a lovely area in San Pedro. It offers great service, delicious food, and an impressive selection of wines. I highly recommend this place as a must-visit in Monterrey!
I've loved Fondue Fred for 30 years and will miss it forever! Thank you for the fantastic food and the wonderful memories!
My family has been going for years, so when I heard that they close, I thought I would think again about the old times. it had a nostalgic taste, not much has changed. the fondue is very good and I had a good time.
Get in before they're gone! : . The dinner fondues are amazing. Chocolate wasn't that great, but it was good. Tough to go wrong with melted chocolate.

Could be a fun place if the food was better. Trader Joe’s fondue is yummier. I think the chocolate ‘fondue’ is just Hershey’s syrup.
This is definitely a hole in the wall place but it’s pretty good! Our server was super busy but still did a great job at making sure we were taken care of. It’s definitely pricey for what you get which is why I think it’s just a good one time thing.

From my childhood I remember fondue tasting very sharp, define do was not like that, it was very mild. I don't know if there is anything official about fondue, but I was looking forward to that strong sharp taste, which was missing.
Love this place. Trying to go as many times as possible before it has to close for demolition. We always order the garlic and the meatballs. When we are hungry, it is enough for two.
We came here last week with my husband and son on Friday straight from work for dinner. I was already told by a friend that the parking is difficult but I didn 't really mind. We got to the place and it looked like an old warehouse on the outside and nothing fancy but it is actually pretty cool inside. I think that was part of what makes the place interesting. We made phone reservation for 6:30pm but when we got there no one was at the counter and not even a sign saying be back in 20 minutes or something. We waited outside for some 20-25 minutes before we got accommodated. We were a bit hungry but we chose not too find another restaurant to eat as I wanted to try this fondue place. We finally got accommodated and our order taken. We got PARMESAN CHEESE in wine, Gruyère cheese and mushroom. Also ordered MEATBALLS in homemade tomato sauce, butter and blend of spices. I thought they were small servings because of the size of the pot so we also added a side of garlic bread with dip. All there fondues by the way are served with salad, potato and bread. I think the food was great and very filling and it was served quick too. We didn 't have to wait too long to start eating and we were very satisfied with it. We had to take everything home because there was still so much left. The food we think was great, the ambiance and its setup is clever and casual. The wait time however was the only hiccup. Overall, everything was OK and we 'll still come back with friends and more family next time.
The atmosphere is absolutely perfect here... Great for first appointments, group dinners, or just a good place to take a bite. I would very much welcome giving this place a chance if you already had
