Staff was really friendly to take order and get us seated. Fantastic little spot in Berkeley. Arepas and corn appetizer were delicious and they have a large selection of mezcal. The patio in the back is a great place to chill with friends. Would come back next time I’m in the area.Food: 5/5
Each Salvadorean restaurant seems to have a slightly different menu and that is fun to order from a larger variety of dishes that their chef makes. So I tried the arepa, with pastor. The menu suggested. Fried over grilling. Wow, great crunch, flavor and the meat was delicious. Another dish caught my eye, identified as a new addition, a birria ramen bowl. It came topped with crispy tortilla strips which I could not stop eating, so I took a picture and you won't see the strips. The noodles were great and the broth had a nice element of red enchilada sauce that I drank up. Then I found a nice chunk of slow cooked beef at the bottom of the bowl. I would say their food was thoroughly enjoyable and I will go back!Kid-friendliness: They have a photo booth to entertain and make memories, very cool
Came for food to go and I asked how long it would take after ordering and wasn’t given an amount of time. We waited over an hour for nachos, tacos, a burrito, and one of the bowl things. Service is pretty bad. If I were getting drunk I might not care but I just wanted to feed my family while we were on a bike ride.As for the food, the salsa was not spicy, the chicken tacos were meh- wish they were grilled or seasoned more. Nachos were good enough and the burrito sizable (thanks rice) however I’d only go back if I had all the time in the world to allow them to redeem themselves with their other food. I was starving so who knows if the extra star for them was worth it but maybe that’s their game. Starve you out and get you drunk (if you ever get your drinks) while they’re blasting mediocre music.
Good food. Tacos were big and filling. Arepa was delicious. Hibiscus mocktail was refreshing.Food: 5/5
