The line around the corner says it all: the food is exceptional. One of the things I really appreciate about this place is that the price for a single slice of pizza is exactly what you'd pay per slice if you bought a whole pizza, so there's no markup for smaller orders. After being a patron of the Cheeseboard for 45+ years, I experienced the rudest customer service by a dour girl named Caylly. It was so upsetting I contacted the CB to express my dismay. No apology was offered, and Caylly’s behavior was minimized and excused due to the stresses we are all experiencing these days. This little girl wasn’t even alive when I became an avid customer of the CB. Seems it’s politically incorrect to ascribe responsibility where it is due. The CB has jumped the shark. I will not return cuz this little llama ain’t down with this drama. I’ll always look fondly back at the early days when the Cheeseboard treated their patrons as valued and welcomed members of their community.

After decades of loving this place, it has sadly changed for the worse. Once a destination and experience, it is just another cheese shop. Still a great selection and bakery, it is sad to see the character and personality gone; apparently for good. Another victim of Covid. For the initiated, it may seem alright. For us, it’s a sad statement on the new reality. Bummer

If you are in Berkeley and you love pizza, you must come to this place! Their pizza and green suace are just delicious! LOVE the atmosphere and their live jazz music.
I don't completely get the craze about this place. They command huge lines and great music acts, but the pizza is greasy and unvaried and it feels like they invest too little in making it a pleasant experience by not even wiping down the tables.
I may be late to the trend, but this restaurant definitely lived up to the hype! I tried the pizza of the day, which was leek and mushroom, available in both regular and vegan options. My family members, who are dairy intolerant, even declared it the best vegan pizza they've had. It felt more like a flatbread than a traditional pizza—partly because the daily special didn’t have any tomato sauce—but the toppings really highlighted the cheese flavors. The green sauce, which was similar to zhoug, added a nice herbal freshness and a bit of spice. The salad was just average, but I appreciated the smaller portion size for the $6 price. The staff were all hardworking and very helpful. Overall, it’s a great place with a good vibe!

Pizza is delicious any day we come. My son found this place while going to Cal and now stops in when home from florida.
Not a vegan or vegetarian but oh boy….now I finally understand why Cheeseboard Pizza was voted 2022 Best Pizza in America! They only had 1 type of Pizza but that was everything and all you’ll ever want or need…it was soooo good! ?? Lines were around the block on a Friday night but totally worth it! I suggest try it yourselves and u won’t be disappointed! ???? (Long lines but very efficient with the orders, live music Friday night when we were there and huge outdoor seating area).
Best pizza bread cheese and cookies
Despite the long line and limited seating space, Cheese Board Collective Pizzeria offers the best gluten-free pizza I've tried so far! The live music also creates a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The best pizza no doubt. What a wonderful place, so unique. A place to gather, socialize, listen to music.and just hang out. The pizza is always delicious and the cheese shop and baked goods incredible.
Best pizza out there! And the most mouth watering cheese rolls! Fresh ingredients, quick and friendly service, and tasty food. I always rush back there when I am in town.
I've łoved this place since I attended the University from 80-84 and continued to live in the neighborhood until 89. Now it's a must visit anytime I'm in town. Baguettes and cream cheese spread the favorite, but it's all good!
First time with friends and I really didn't miss the meat. Wow what long lines....that never stop....yikes!
Never thought, growing up in Southern California, that one to my all time favorite places to enjoy a meal would be a vegetarian pizza collective. Keep the great flavors coming!
