Asha Tea House
4.5 / 5 (4518 reviews)

Description

Nestled in the heart of the Bay Area, Asha Tea House boasts an impressive selection of loose-leaf teas and bubble tea crafted from real brewed tea. While many patrons rave about the quality, particularly of their matcha and green teas, recent visits have raised concerns about service and cleanliness. Some reported uncomfortable experiences with staff, while others criticized the pricing for compostable cups and the inconsistency in drink quality. Despite these drawbacks, the inviting architecture and diverse menu keep some loyal customers returning, hopeful for better experiences that highlight Asha's potential as a premier tea destination.

Great spot for a fully customizable matcha! For the purist, you can get it with just water, and unsweetened. They use ceremonial grade, and also have organic matcha.

I been a long time customer. I love the vast selection of tea from different parts of the world. That said quality has gone down recently. The boba has no sweet flavor. It’s completely tasteless which defeats the purpose of adding it to my drink. It is hard and rubbery. 3 stars for the tea having good flavor. Service has been hit or miss. I’ve gotten a cold drink when I asked for hot. I’ve gotten matcha when I asked for Chai.

Love Asha Tea; consistently great quality black and green teas of different kinds for years. They recently introduced matcha soft serve which is delicious. They also serve coffee however considering how good the tea is, I’d go for that.

The Chai spice latte was authentic and tasted just like what it would in India.

It always feels like a more upscale spot for boba. The flavors are consistently subtle and refined, which I really appreciate, especially since many boba shops tend to favor overly sweet or artificial-tasting options. Their seasonal offerings are definitely worth a try, but I usually opt for a classic milk tea that showcases the base tea's quality. While it is a bit pricier, it’s a treat that feels indulgent and high-quality.
