My friend and I who live near Bergerac invited two visiting Irish friends to meet us for lunch at this excellent restaurant where we have enjoyed several meals.... read more My friend and I who live near Bergerac invited two visiting Irish friends to meet us for lunch at this excellent restaurant where we have enjoyed several meals. I booked for 1pm and unfortunately our friends got lost trying to park and find the restaurant. I rang the restaurant at 1.15 and was about to explain and apologise for our lateness but could not get a word in. In rapid fire french I was told "desole" but our table was no longer available. We walked past a few minutes later and saw our table on the terrasse with the reserved sign still in place. I believed that the restaurant was open for lunch until 2.30 and it still was not 1.30. We were so disappointed and quite embarrassed too having to try and explain to our friends how this could happen. I think it should be explained that they will not accept anyone later than 1pm as we could have booked a bit earlier. The delay was unavoidable on our part and we were so upset.

We walked in to be... read more We ate here on our last night - we recognised that Empreinte were currently at No 1 on trip advisor for we thought we would reserve a table. We walked in to be greeted by staff who were very pleasant. Service was acceptable as was the food but nothing special although perfectly edible. Although we cannot fault the meal it was, in our opinion, an average meal. The beef main course was well cooked despite asking for medium-rare and it was served on a bed of potato. The desert, creme brûlée was served in a nice sardine looking dish but clearly not freshly burnt on the top - I would imagine it was cold out of a fridge and prepared by the waiting staff by sprinkling sugar on the top rather than fresh from the kitchen. As we said, an acceptable meal but nothing special.

Les enf... read more Les mets sont excellents, les desserts également fait maison. L accueil très agréable et sympathique. Le menu enfant est réalisé avec les plats du menu. Les enfants sont considéré ce qui est très rare. Présence d une table à langer pour les bébés ou même chaise haute. Il est par contre conseillé de réserver. Je vous le recommande pour le très bon rapport qualité prix.

The staff are very friendly and happy... read more The Empreinte offers the best value in Bergerac also the most extensive menu. Their wines are very reasonably priced too. The staff are very friendly and happy to translate their dishes to non French speaking customers. We only went once in our four day visit...to Bergerac but wish we had opted to go again, instead of the more expensive restaurants we tried.

The serv... read more We enjoyed an excellent dinner selected from a menu that includes some unusual combinations (e.g. lamb ridge with olive crust) among the usual choices. The service was very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive, we were asked if we wanted a break before... our deserts were served, for example. The 3-course menu was €25 without disturbing supplements. (A similar lunch menu is available for €20). The wine selection was good, but also house wine options at very reasonable prices included. The outdoor seats are located in a narrow pedestrian area, which was quiet and relaxing. Very recommended.
