Shmidt Spirits - Beltsville

I took my parents and my wife for a tour and tasting. arthur and brian were very generous with their time and their knowledge about the destillier process. a really nice branch just a bit north of the university of maryland.

Great guys. Smooth whiskey. Bought some bottles as Christmas presents and it's great to have the owner and master distiller putting little Christmas hats on the bottle and wrapping it up.

A friendly craft distillery in the DC Metro area. Knowledgeable owner master distiller gave me a great tour. I left with much more knowledge about the creation of Rye Whiskey Gin. Two Thumbs to Arthur Brian. My favorite was Rye Whiskey on a Rum Barrel Cobalt.

They have such amazing, small batch, locally produced spirits. I cannot recommend their gin highly enough, and this is coming from a lover of gin. You must come visit them!!

I found out about the Shmidt Spirits Distillery through Groupon. They offered a fabulous deal for a tour a tasting and two personalized glasses. The distillery is easy to find. When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by the owner, who was also our tour guide. We learned quite a bit about the distillery and the background into the establishment of the company. We tasted three of the spirits and each one was just as good as the previous. We purchased four bottles to take with us up enjoy at home. I highly recommend that others take advantage of this educational and entertaining experience.
