Reviews praise Zen’s inventive dishes, friendly staff and lively decor, but note occasional inconsistent mains, slow drinks and very loud entertainment on some nights.

Surprisingly for an Asian restaurant, there are only three vegetarian mains on the extensive menu. I asked the waiter if the vegetarian options contained dairy products. He went away and checked and came back to tell me I couldn’t have any of the mains on the menu as they all contained dairy products. There was even egg in the Morinaga tofu and mushroom dish although this isn’t stated on the menu. I was offered a vegetable stir-fry with teriyaki sauce, which wasn’t listed on the menu. There are a couple of presumably vegan starters, including asparagus sushi, edamame beans a black bean and water chestnut lettuce wrap. The food was OK, but nothing special. There are better Asian restaurants in Belfast that do accommodate vegans.

Not many vegan options, in which there was no vegan main course on the menu. the personal had however burst. they offered me a veggie teriyaki that was so delicious. While it would be nice to have some options, I did not go hungry. I went to celebrate my birthday and my friend asked if they could do something for what was vegan and they would drown on ice what I thought was a nice note. the cocktails were amazing

Not many vegan options here! pretty sure is the only teriyaki stir fry! from any reason they also make the tofu with ice? the touching frit was beautiful but! and it is a beautiful, cool restaurant. fab cocktails.

The food was amazing and the staff were entertaining. Our large group enjoyed a variety of delicious starters. I may have stolen at least 5 of my friends' starters, but I can confirm they were all fantastic.

My first visit to this restaurant for lunch exceeded my expectations after being disappointed by my last three dining experiences. The restaurant was spotless and the staff were incredibly friendly. We were seated promptly and given menus. I ordered spring rolls as an appetizer and honey chicken for my main course. The spring rolls were freshly made and disappeared quickly due to my hunger. The honey chicken was excellent and was devoured just as fast. The staff continuously refilled my water glass and checked in on us to ensure our satisfaction. For dessert, I indulged in the Banoffee cheesecake, which was delicious and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this restaurant and would give it a perfect score of 10/10. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
