The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming to all customers. In fact, the farmer who grows the rhubarb has celiac disease, which inspired Fancy Bakery to create gluten-free rhubarb muffins so that he could also enjoy their delicious offerings made from his harvest. I visited this restaurant several times before writing this review to ensure I wasn't judging it on an off day. The cakes are fantastic—there’s no denying they are the best around. However, the service is quite cold, and it feels like there’s an uncomfortable atmosphere. I visited yesterday for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. The coffee and hot chocolate were outstanding, and the cakes were equally delightful. My wife, who can be quite discerning about buttercream, found the coffee and nut cake to be excellent. The blueberry and lime cake, as well as the lemon, almond, and polenta cake, were also top-notch. The owner appears to be a talented, hardworking, and pleasant woman. We will definitely return!
