The plat du jour was sold out but the Caesar salad from the menu, accompanied by drinks from an extensive selection was fine. We finished up with cafe gourmand all in all, a great lunch

The service listens to specific requests and the kitchen and bar team responds promptly. We had a very pleasant lunch break on the shaded terrace. PS: the interior of the establishment is magnificent, with authentic “early 20th century” decor.

I was tempted to give this place five stars just to pull it up the rankings as I feel there are some reviews which are unfair . Maybe some people had different expectations and were disappointed . It is not a classy restaurant , not a family run, cosy eating experience. Rather it is a bit old fashioned , quite basically furnished , though providing a perfectly adequate and jolly atmosphere on a Saturday night . It’s a bit like an English pub , though the food is superior to pub grub . Not a gastro pub football is showing on a screen in the corner and lots of people just come in for a drink. A real mix mostly locals , some families , some Muslims, some lorry driver types , all chatting away animatedly . Service was brisk and very efficient . The servers did not have time for a long chat but listened carefully to our order. The food was old fashioned French menu eg steak and chips, bavette, chocolate mousse . All delicious and the chips were golden and crisp. The place is set on the main square the only lively bit of town and has outdoor seating , covered and with patio heater in winter. .

As we arrived at the very end of the service, we received a warm and dynamic welcome. The menu, in bistro mode, is concise which bodes well for the quality of the dishes. This hypothesis turns out to be entirely correct and the dishes served in a good mood and with attention are excellent. In the end, a very positive experience and a very positive quality/price ratio.
