While passing through Galway, i had the opportunity of dining at Donnelly's. It was late at night, had no expectations and yet i was very pleasantly surprised. I had the citrus calamari to start and the catch of the day and traditional fish and chips as my main. Both dishes were great and went very well a couple pints of beer. Lovely atmosphere, great service, and very friendly guests which was nice since i was dinin... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Donnelly's:
Sea food chowder was really nice and fish and chips were lovely but burger was very disappointing, just a massive patty cooked to within an inch of being flavourless put on a limp bit of lettuce and a slice of tomato. For a gastro pub that used to be renowned for its sea food. There was a very limited selection on the menu, salmon (catch of the day) or fish and chips. View all feedback.
Nice menu cheap. chowder is beautifully presented, but tasteless, without a flavor or taste. Bland.staff very pleasant
The fish and chips were overboiled and full of fat. would not be eating there again.
Grand restaurant but ordered starter and chicken done in cream sauce. Only got starter and CHIPS. Didn't bother questioning as they should initially got order right
The chef knows what she/he is doing! Nicest fish of the day I've had in a long time (hake).
Great pint of Guinness.Great food. Staff were very friendly.
