Stopped on in the plaza for a cup of wine and some jamon cheese. The place had a nice vibe, open and comfortable. The service was ok, didn't seem to impressed that we were there, the red was ok, the racion of jamon and queso left something to be desired. There are a number of spots in the town, we went to try some others and found better.
They were very nice to a stinky thru-hiker. Good food, cold beer, and the servers were very kind to me. Had a steak and fries and a little salad. Would come again!
We were looking for a quick terrace dinner our first night at Elizondo, Karrika was one of the places around the town hall where all the action was taking place (in fact a live brass-wind orchestra was performing in the street . The place was full but even on a Saturday night the food was served fast. Overall good quality and tasteful good, even if served in a simple and familiar way. Not a gourmet place, but we enjoyed our fast foods (tomato salad, sandwiches... .
Stopped here for lunch but was very disappointed. We got an outside table which the young waiter cleared and gave us a menu. When we tried to order we were told that the kitchen had closed!!! This despite customers still being served at the time. I asked if there was anything to eat and was told that, NO, there was nothing that they could serve us as the kitchen was now being cleaned. No idea why they gave us a menu if they were no longer taking orders for lunch. Additionally, the menu didn't have any prices on it so couldn't say if it would have been good value or not.
