The food was ok a stringy and overpriced steak, a junk food vegetarian main, but truly awful service. Wine didn’t arrive with the meal. When we asked politely for it a second time we were listened to and then completely ignored. We couldn’t get their attention after that Food had now gone cold. We went up to them, paid and left. Too late to get a drink or a dessert elsewhere. First night in Bayonne ruined by awful service, indifferent staff and mediocre food

I only had three pintxos to eat (very good at €2.50 each) and a couple of beers on my own. I don't really speak French, so I could not mingle, but google translate was there for me. The staff understood, they spoke English in return if needed (please try to speak French). Couples are here, friends are here and families are here. Their food looks good and people seem to like it
