It was a nice little surprise tucked away in fire island. The ambiance was quaint and cozy.. and the food was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and we also had the simply cooked shrimp which scrumptious. The portions were great sizes and The Gin mint martinis are not to be missed!
It is the end of the season on Fire Island, so a few items on the menu weren't available. However the cocktails and food was top notch, and with most of the summer folks gone it was delightfully quiet. An excellent evening.
Turns out Le Dock isn't open for lunch even though I booked my reservation here. When the restaurant canceled the reservation, I called to find out why. The person was matter of fact. Not apologetic that my plan was ruined. I rearranged my day and went for dinner instead. Slow service even though there were only five tables being served. Finished my cocktail long before I was asked if I wanted another. Empty appetizer plates sat for about ten minutes. Not what I was expecting from a Jean Georges restaurant. Won't got back. Wouldn't recommend.
Loved the place. Wish there was more fine dining on dire island!!
You will not find a restaurant on fire Island that is better. From the food, the host, the bartenders, the food aervers. Our waiter Ben is the best in the business. Makes you feel welcome, one of the best waiters I have had in any restaurant experience. If I could give 10 stars to this restaurant, I would.
