Description
Dempsey's offers a mix of reviews with some customers feeling let down by bland and overpriced food, while others rave about the experience. Some highlight the hit or miss nature of the dishes, with salty food sometimes being an issue. On the other hand, many praise the generous portions, delicious meals, and impeccable service. My first time here and this place was wonderful! Very quaint and charming. Our waitress was delightful! She was friendly and chatted with us a bit. Very relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. We started with a bowl of seafood gumbo and loved it! I had the grilled chicken with mornay sauce and really enjoyed it. The stuffed potato was really tasty. My boyfriend ordered the fried fish and red beans. The fish was fried perfectly and I'd definitely recommend trying it! This is a great little place for a relaxed, family style southern meal. Will definitely return.
I know it doesn’t look like much on the outside.. but great food! Shrimp, catfish, po boys, etc fresh and delicious! Menu has a lot of options. Daughter got a burger, she really enjoyed it.
This place has been on our list to try for sometime. I’ve always heard good things. The gumbo is very good and the catfish was nice portions. I prefer a little darker gravy and gumbo (just personal preference, not a criticism of theirs). The green beans were absolutely amazing!! I think next time I’ll try the catfish poboy, as it seems to be the specialty. I do highly recommend giving this place a try. Definitely a local favorite.
