This place is so good. Huge portions for a great price. We showed up about 20 minutes before closing and we never got rushed or made to hurry. The food was delicious and fresh. The server was friendly and helpful. We will be stopping in whenever we pass through the area for sure.Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What Jenny Huynh doesn't like about Dempsey's:
Food was super bland and disappointing. We ordered the shrimp platter with a side of seafood gumbo, and catfish poboy to go. The shrimp was fine but fries were soggy and had no seasoning. Hush puppies were dry and had no flavor. Gumbo was basically water with shrimp in it. Catfish poboy was not good in general. For $38, we should’ve went somewhere else. View all feedback.
The seafood plate was fantastic! Server was nice and food was fast. She even offered to share an additional plate and brought us to go a plate when we finished our meal.
Must stop when in Baton Rouge food is excellent, like the service. Even during the busy lunch break.
Amazing food! Had the chicken and sausage gumbo together with a cancer poboy. Excellent bread that is important for a Poboy. Great prices.
Ordered the half and half, half gumbo half sandwich, a nice value meal. Great chicken and sausage gumbo, just the way I like it. A little spice and a little style. I'll be going there again, for sure!
Best food I've had in Louisiana! Spent the last two days eating my way through New Orleans and stopped here for lunch afterwards. Dempsey's blew it out the park and had better quality food and bigger portions. If you get the chance COME TRY EVERYTHING!
