I had planned to visit on my last night in Bath and was really looking forward to it, being a gin enthusiast and a fan of Jane. Both the website and Google state they stay open until midnight, but the door only vaguely says "late." I arrived at 10 pm when there were still customers inside and the door was open. The female bartender greeted me warmly, but then the male bartender told me they had finished serving for the night with an unconvincing "sorry." As much as I like the concept, I won’t be coming back when I’m in Bath. It would have cost nothing for the other bartender, who clearly didn’t mind, to quickly make me a drink. Service: 1/5.

The cocktail menu is original and inventive, the staff are attentive and well-informed, and the cozy atmosphere makes you forget you’re just a short stroll from the city’s main shopping area. The Three of Swords and The Star stand out on the menu, crafted with their extensive selection of unique distilled gins, but the bartenders are happy to create any drink you desire beyond the menu.
