Feedback
Reviews praise Combe Grove's creative, high-quality seasonal food, views and atmosphere, but note small portions and occasional service inconsistencies.
The restaurant offers a limited selection of options for dinner, with small portion sizes. While it's great that they use all organic, local produce, their attempts at being too creative with traditional dishes could be improved upon. Overall, there is room for improvement.
We made a reservation for four people for Sunday lunch in advance and the restaurant was amazing. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. We had the option to dine indoors or outdoors, both offering stunning views. The only drawback was that if you were hoping for a traditional meat-heavy Sunday roast, this may not be the menu for you. However, this did not detract from our overall enjoyment as the food was delicious and healthy.
So we arrived at the bar and asked if we could order before going through.. not a problem after a short while we were taken through to our table. It was then over 45 minutes before our starters arrived (all cold and could have been prepped in advance). The menu choices are very limited fish, lamb, quail or vegetarian. No beef chicken options.. breakfast was even more limited no sausage and tiny portions of beans eggs and the most terrible fatty bacon that you had to operate on and wasn’t really worth the hassle. All in all a nice hotel but make sure you eat out
I never leave reviews, but this place was so bad I feel compelled to do so! Terrible over priced meal!
Our dining experience at this restaurant was the worst we have ever had. It was surprising to see so many other customers leave early as well. There was only one waiter serving, and it seemed like he was let down by other staff members, although this was not communicated to us. We were not given a wine menu and had to settle for two glasses of house wine in dirty glasses. The starter was decent, but the main course of lamb was extremely cold. We started our meal at 7:30 and by 9pm, our uneaten main course had still not been cleared. When we explained to the waiter why we couldn't eat the food, he was very rude. Like the other diners, we left before dessert, as nobody was able to order it due to the waiter's lack of interest.
