We enjoyed and excellent steak and pork dish at Donegans, and would have returned the next week, excepting they were closing for a winter break. The creme brulee was exceptional. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about donegans steak house:
Went there for st Patricks day.I have never been to a worse restaurant in my life.Rude staff that never smiled.Service was painfully slow. The soup was great but the rest of the meal was below par. Very expensive but it was the way they spoke to customers and the nasty attitude that took us back. View all feedback.
What a terrible experience was as if it were in the 80s. bad eating and bad decor, humble bad service. the oysters were bad and I suspect that a day old and definitiw did not get fresh (how do they get bad oysters in batemans bay)! the steak was so mediocre and the money was not worth, could cook a better steak home. seriously they feel at the low standard of this place torn off, they need to do better this day and age. I felt like I was in an episode of ramsay's kitchen night rooms.
O. m. g. the BEST surf I've ever had. the new owner/Koch has made a great job. I asked my wife if we could marry him, it's so good that troy tries to seduce me. the best sticky date pudding to complete it
I wouldn't give stars if I could, bad restaurant I've ever been. I was with a party of 4. 2 medium-sized rare steaks came out blue, a medium came out blue and a medium fountain rarely came with so much dirty grilled charcoal, it was unusable. the pfeffer sauce tasted like petrol and felt as if it leaves chemical incineration. the garlic sauce was spicy and completely not what they would expect. the veggies were a sweat, overboiled zucchini and carrot. the Kilpatrick oysters were not kilpatrick at all, the only thing they had together was worceshire and the owner told us if we had taste buds, they would know how to taste it. also the koks is 5,50 and you don't even get the whole dose. it was meant to cost $200 for eating only, but I wouldn't even feed it to my dog, disgusting.
When you order something that says oysters kilpatrick you at least expect something that resembles it. Their Oysters are nothing like it. For a steak house the steaks were horrible and it was nothing like what we ordered, everything came out blue but still burnt. The pepper gravy was horrible with a strange chemical taste and when I spoke to the owner after sending our meals back he wanted nothing to do with what I had to say, instead just Insulted me before mumbling under his breath when he turned around.Staff were lovely but the owner was rude and the food was horrible and over priced, wouldn’t feed it to my dog. Think it’s time you take the 2013 award sign down, that times been dead and gone, you’re just flogging a dead horse now.
Ordering drinks was the start of our bad experience when you get 3/4 of a can of coke for $5.50.Then we ordered the Donegans style oyster Kilpatrick which, understandably is Donegans style, but had absolutely no resemblance to traditional Kilpatrick. After giving the owner some polite feedback we were quickly insulted with him saying things like “if you had tastebuds you would know it tastes like kilpatrick”We then had our T-bone and scotch fillet steaks come out which just topped things of,The t-bone was ordered medium and the scotch medium rare, both of which came out completly blue/raw. The pepper sauce tasted like chemicals with no pepper.Overall the price for the terrible quality of food was crazy and the attitude from the owner was disgusting. The sign out the front saying “best steakhouse in the south coast 2013” should probably be taken down as this venue definitely doesn’t meet those standards
