The best Calamari we had on the island. My wife enjoyed her fish sandwich a lot; my seafood sandwich was decent, but nothing to wear at home. Chowder was okay. Children? Fish (shock) and chips lunch was good. We sat outside the docks; the view was wonderful when we watched the tern circle and fish in the port. The service was okay.
Delightfully hidden on the way to the Bass Harbor Light, Seafood Ketch is a family owned and operated seafood restaurant. They give a whole new meaning to from trap to table as the dock is just ahead on the water. The chef is happy, proud of what he creates and willing to come out when he can and talk to the customers. We had the scallops, seafood salad and the heavenly calamari.
Wow! We spent days cramming into spots in Bar Harbor chasing what we were hoping to find. . . And then we found Bass Harbor and the The Ketch. Great vibes, (we had been hiking all day and they treated us like we go there every week), best lobster roll we?ve had along with the best price, huge portions, and all around delicious and amazing! Our waitress was the bomb and had great advice for our trip. And the sunset was spectacular.
5 stars for view, location and food. We had a table overlooking the harbor with the lobster boats and sail boats floating at their moorings. A nice breeze was comfortable on a sunny day. I had a small salad and the Bass Harbor Seafood sandwich with the sweet potato fires and an iced tea that was refilled. The reasonable price alone would recommend the restaurant but the meal was as good as the view. The menu has a variety of items if you do not like seafood. The staff were great with friendly and professional service.
Great view, rate Garlic steamed mussels is definitely the best course of the day, fresh, tasty, full of flavor. Seafood sandwich is good, as well as the sweet potato chips. Lobster marinara is a little bit plain, though. And huge thumbs up for the predinner bread, freshly baked and fluffy.
