Tonight, we ordered takeout from a restaurant we have frequented before with no issues. Both of us are vegetarian, so we ordered King Prawn meals. However, upon returning home, we discovered one of the meals was actually Chicken. We called the restaurant to inquire about a refund, as the payment was made by credit card. We were told we needed to return to the restaurant to receive the refund. They also mentioned they would make a replacement meal for the incorrect one. So, we made the trip back to the restaurant, leaving our other food at home. Despite the inconvenience of having to make two journeys and having our food get cold, the restaurant only offered us a bottle of beer as compensation. When I declined the beer and asked for a refund for the incorrect meal, I was told a refund could not be processed on the card. Instead, they offered me a £10 note for a meal that cost over £12. As regular customers, we were disappointed with the poor customer service and felt that their attitude was inappropriate given the situation. I ultimately declined the £10 offer as I was dissatisfied with the service provided, especially considering it was their mistake. Overall, the service was subpar.
