Region
Description
Region Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with excellent food and cocktails that leave guests impressed. The inviting atmosphere, especially in the newly covered outdoor area, enhances the dining experience. While many patrons praise its outstanding service, some have noted inconsistencies, particularly with dish preparation and temperature control. Signature small plates and standout desserts, such as sticky toffee pudding, earn rave reviews. However, occasional lapses in service and seasoning issues have left a few diners unsatisfied. Overall, Region remains a appealing choice for those seeking fine dining in Lake County, with a chance of delightful surprises.

We were promptly seated for our reservation, and I must say, the comfy white chairs were a nice touch. We enjoyed some wonderful wine and cocktails before our meal. The salmon was delightful, and our entire table agreed that the meatloaf was a standout dish worth returning for! The dessert was truly impressive! We shared the sticky toffee pudding and the cinnamon sugar doughnuts, and both were simply fantastic! The service was friendly, and we will definitely be coming back!
I reserved a table in the Four Seasons room, which was essentially open to the outdoors. There were screens, but no windows, and the daytime temperatures were in the high 50s, which seemed poorly planned given that the weather had been forecasted for days. The food was only mediocre; someone in our party ordered lamb, and it was tough. As we sat down, we overheard the table next to us complaining about their slow service, making us question how our experience would turn out. I hadn’t visited Region in over a year, and it might be another year before I consider going back.
Region has a delightful ambience. Our appetizer, the Cajun scallops, were excellent and one of the finer appetizers we’ve had anywhere. My wife had salmon and was pleased with it and our dessert was also tasty. I however had a ribeye which came with delicious mashed potatoes and green beans though there were only 4 green beans and could’ve been more. The ribeye was prepared medium rare as I requested but it was literally one of the worst ribeyes I’ve ever had including those at family type restaurants. It was far too fatty even for a ribeye and chewy beyond anything I’ve had anywhere else. Our server was ok but didn’t seem very well trained. She was not attentive to our table in a timely manner. She did ask if there were any allergies she needed to be aware but when our appetizer arrived we had to confirm whether it contained the spice my wife is allergic to, she had to go back to the kitchen to ask. Overall, this is a venue worth trying, but stay away from the ribeye!
Their menu gives you so many interesting choices. The food was amazing and the entire staff is friendly and accommodating. We have never been disappointed and look forward to our next visit! You have a choice of outside or inside dining and the restaurant is meticulous. The bar always serves a perfect cocktail and love their wine choices.
