Black Pear - Barrington
Black Pear
Description
Black Pear pairs stylish decor, lively music and pleasant outdoor seating with standout coffee, fresh breakfast options, a rewards program and occasional doughnuts. However, experiences vary: drinks and dishes range from excellent to cold or flavorless, service can be friendly yet inconsistent with mixed-up orders, and bathrooms are frequently unclean. Prices skew high. A worthy stop for coffee lovers and casual breakfast seekers, but expect inconsistent quality and value.

Fantastic experience! I had the matcha latte along with a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and sourdough. Everything was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back!
It only takes one poor experience, right? I suppose I can now cross this off my list—the landmark in Newport. The outdoor seating was a nice touch, even with the rain. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The menu was lackluster at best. Our orders were mixed up, and the food runner, who seemed quite young, rolled their eyes often. One person in our group didn’t receive their meal until we had finished eating. Our waitress didn’t check on us until the very end, so I couldn’t address my cold, watery omelette that had vinegar in it (yes, vinegar). I ended up munching on tater tots and bacon and then went elsewhere for more food after brunch. This place is a one-time experience for me. I wouldn’t recommend it and don’t understand its appeal at all. There are plenty of other great spots to explore in Newport.
The menu was confusing, the food was burnt and served cold. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I spent $82 on three sandwiches and a bagel, which is just outrageous!
Fantastic food. I?ve been Several times and it is always delicious. The huevos rancheros are a favorite. Black Pear is a great reliable spot for breakfast lunch!
