I 've only ordered take out here via Door Dash so I can 't speak to service. I think the food is great. 1. Spaghetti and Meatballs holy crap, one of the few restaurants on the planet that know how to cook non homemade spaghetti to al dente without overdoing it. I was shocked. I 've had it 6 or 7 times and never had overcooked pasta. It has a great chew to it. The sauce is great! The meatballs are a little bit tough, good flavor but could use some more panade mixed with the meat. Better though than the italian restaraunts (see my other reviews) in the area. Probably their best dish. Don 't sleep on it. 2. Fra Diavlo sauce I got it with TONS of seafood and the crispy calamari on the side. How considered to put the breaded item on the side so it doesn 't get soggy (and especially calamari can get over cooked even in low heat of sitting sauce). GREAT job. 3. Quahog chowder is divine. Creamy, lots of solid potatoes that aren 't over cooked. I guess it 's a bit too much broth as compared to the actual good stuff, but the broth is divine...peppery, creamy, and seafood tasting. LOVE their chowder. 4. Baksed Stuff Shrimp was disappointing. The stuffing all came on the side of the shrimp. They weren 't stuffed. It was strange. Flavor was fine but shrimp way over cooked judged by how bad they curled up. 5. Original pizza. Good, but a little sloppy. Curst broke down under the weight and water of all the naturally watery toppings on top. Could take or leave. Not their marque thing. 6. French fries. Amazing. Obviously they aren 't handcut, but they aren 't the standard ones you get from restaurants that buy frozen fries. They are different, crispy, well cooked. GREAT job. Oh but I couldn 't get a side of ketchup with them no matter how many times I asked. Lastly, one criticism...if you 're going to advertise on grub hub, please don 't tell me the restaurant has no ability to send plastic utensils with the order. Or a small container of parm cheese or even a small container of ketchup when you order fries or a burger.. If you cant provide plastic cutlery, don 't advertise on DoorDash or just buy a case of it. It 's very inexpensive. I was called and told we don 't have plastic cutlery my response was then don 't do take out food . I just moved into my house and had nothing here. Eating spaghettini with a pair of chopsticks I had leftover was pretty impossible. Go get some little tubs, fill them with parm cheese and ketchup. It 's not that expensive or difficult and you can 't have that many to go orders as it 's a sit down place and you don 't offer your own delivery. Make our customer experience easier and I 'll change my rating to 5 stars. This is very poor customer service. I think the food is GOOD, I can 't speak to the service. I would just say, if you want to be a delivery option for the big boy services (Uber Eats, Door Dash and Grubhub), get some friggin plastic silverware and be prepared to throw a little thing of parm cheese in the bag.
I started with a dozen oysters, which were decent but a bit gritty. The salmon was tasty, though at $26 for a small portion, it didn’t quite seem worth it. However, the Mediterranean pizza was a highlight—everything was fresh and flavorful. Overall, I've had good experiences during both of my visits. It's a nice spot for locals in Barrington and the surrounding areas, and there's plenty of parking available. Just keep in mind that you might want to make reservations for weekends.
I'm not keen on their hours as I can't often get here when open. This is due to living on an island and being a slave to the schedule. I really wish there were lunch options. That said I did get here the night before Thanksgiving when I was off island overnight. I'm a huge fan of their burgers, but I want to REALLY rave about their quahog (clam, for you tourists! chowder! This was my first experience and was incredibly surprised to discover the closest recipe to my mothers ever! Generally in this area there tends to be a heavy white creamy base This was noteworthy for having a lighter and very nicely spiced base that was just fantastic. Everything about this delightful dish screamed homemade! This was SO good, I ordered two quarts to go! The only reason for a four star rating instead of five were the to-go plastic containers. I had a fairly significant amount of leakage before I arrived back on the island!!! Trust me, those two quarts (give or take did NOT last long!!!
We were supposed to be going to Providence for our anniversary to our favorite seafood restaurant but at the last minute our babysitter flaked on us! It was apparent that the kids were going to be joining us for dinner and we didn 't want to go that far with them, so we decided to try Billy 's (we 've had take away before, but never actually eaten in). We arrived early as we clearly didn 't have a reservation. The hostess quickly brought us up to the bar area (where the basketball game was on the big screen TV) per our request. We quickly noticed that there were a lot of tables with children. I was shocked as I didn 't picture this place as kid friendly. Our server came over quickly and couldn 't have been nicer or more accommodating. We ordered drinks and she came back very quickly. Between my kids and my wife we were what I would call a high maintenance table. We asked for more bread, the drink wasn 't sweet enough, etc, etc! This never fazed our server! Now to the food....I ordered the night 's scallops special. It was on a bed of Parmesan risotto with a videlia and sun dried tomato jam with a saffron cream sauce. I will be honest that when she put it down I was a bit shocked on the size (small) of the dish, but once I actually got after it I realized it was the perfect portion! When I took the last bite.....and yes, I took every last piece of gloriousness, I was completely satisfied with the portion size. I was pleasantly full! Lest we forget, this is not Chili 's or Friday 's and the portions are not made to feed three people! We will definitely return to Billy 's! I cannot wait!
Six of us went on a Saturday night. We actually drove right by the place. Kind of hard to spot. When we arrived, we were seated right away. We were brought bread, water, and our drinks promptly. Our waitress didn't come over to our table for 15-20 minutes. We placed our food orders. That was the last time we saw our waitress until we paid our bill. A woman who may have been a manager ? checked in on us once. We asked for a side of ranch we asked for when we ordered, but did not receive. A young man brought that over after a few minutes. We were looking for our waitress because we wanted to order more beers. We got the attention of someone else and asked them. We sat with empty plates in front of us for about fifteen minutes before the woman came back over and started clearing plates. Ten minutes after our table was cleared, our waitress brought our bill. I had Billy's original pizza. It was really good. It's thin crust, which I like. The cheese blend was delicious. Someone in my party ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. He noted that the spaghetti was the best part of the dish. Bummer. Two others ordered burgers. They both noted that while the meat was high quality, there was not much blue cheese flavor in the black and blue burger or BBQ flavor on the cowboy burger. The fries were yummy. Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly. It seems like the right side of the restaurant is more of a bar and the right side is a quieter spot for dinner, Overall, it was okay, but I think the service will keep us from going back.
