The soup is advertised as homemade and there was NO WAY that the soup that I ordered was homemade. It tasted like a premade soup from a can and was disgustingly salty. I am an experienced cook and you can tell when a soup is homemade. When I commented to the server that the soup was not homemade, her reply was, "I swear to God that it is." That response is disappointing. She should have just taken the soup away and said that she was sorry that I wasn't happy with it. Please don't play me for a fool. Some of the soups may be made in-house here, but the one I had certainly was not.
We went to the new location on Essa. So new it isn't on Trip Advisor yet. Came for lunch. I had a soup and Chicken Parmesan sandwich. It was excellent. Service was prompt and efficient. Decor is lovely. Food came hot and tasty. I would come back.
Whenever we're in Barrie we always head to the Simmering Kettle (previously known as the Herb N' Sage Restaurant). The wait staff are the best while the meals are made with wholesome ingredients and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!
My family and I enjoy this place so much. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Wife: Haddock and Pommes Kid: Chickenfinger and Pommes Me: Bento Box (Slider, Chips, Mexican Poutine)
My son and I drove 3 hours to hire a rent in Barrie. Beautiful city! decided to have lunch, but wanted something from the chain and locally. Cosy, clean and friendly restaurant. I was told everything was done at home. And it's really.. I had a soup and sandwich lunch, sandwich was loaded BLT on rye and Italian wedding soup. Both were absolutely amazing. Best Italian wedding soup I've ever had! Portions were also perfect. My son had a burger with pommes. He inhaled the burger and had his half. The cheese on his burger... perfect gooey. He loved it, he said it better than Dad's homemade Burgerha. Hope he doesn't see it) I pulled the parent card and had some of his pommes. If I weren't full of my lunch, I'd have finished these fries. Good! Very recommended!
