Description

A quaint local diner with generous portions, a rustic ambiance, and friendly staff. The peameal bacon and eggs are a highlight, along with a good selection of drinks. While the restaurant could use some renovation, the quality of the food and service is praised. Some reviewers mention cash-only policy and issues with parking, but overall recommend this spot for a delicious and hearty breakfast experience.

Good prices. Great food. Crusty service. Everything that makes a local diner a fantastic place to hang out on a weekend morning.

Near-perfect little dinerNothing chain-resto about it despite early-60's theme attempt (b&w tile, old photos & Pepsi signs).

Excellent presentation, quantity, fresh real potatoes, service. Coffee and tea terrible. Don't order

I'm a chef so I'm always somewhat critical of the food when I go out to eat. I make an effort to find hidden gems and small family owned places because often you find the best food and service. The midway diner is no exception. The server (big dude with beard) was on point excellent service and really friendly. The food was easily the best breakfast I think I've ever had, had the midway breakfast I think it's called : 2 eggs sausage toast and hash and my girlfriend had veg omelette. I also got aside if beans which was more like a boat of bean . Incredible value for your money huge portions and the food was amazing. Wish you guys had a location closer to me, love to support local gems like you. Keep up the good work. I will be returning every time I come to Barrie!
