Went for lunch at Fancy's Restaurant on the recommendation of our granddaughter. The place looks nice and we were greeted by a nice lady waitress (maybe the owner). We were seated and given the menu. We were also told what the specials of the day was. We ordered the special which was Haddock Fish, plus 2 choices of side dishes for $11.45. We have several dish and chip places in Barrie like to try them all ! Well Fancys has to be the bottom of the list fist taste like the use frozen chips for sure no fresh potatoes The fish has so much batter you cak hardly find the fish,I went I tried and will not go back really frozen chips in a fish and chip store.They say they have been in business for years I don't know how..... First time here and what a dissapointment.they serve frozen chips.over cooked as well.i see why there was no one in the place even though it was around 4:30pm.you would think there would be some others if it was good enough.
Always enjoy the small portion halibut and chips at lunch. The quality is always consistent. We have had the shrimp and crab both were excellent.
Very nice fish and chips.Had the haddock which was nice and fresh tasting with fries and mushy peas.Its probably the best fish and chips i have had in barrie.
Four retired older men eating out before the show. Pan fried pickerel was the choice this evening and the server Beverly was gracious and charming. The clam chowder soup was very tasty and the dinner was most enjoyable. Glad I had the soup as the wait for the dinner was a bit long.
Best fish and chips in Barrie. When you go ask for Beverly as your server, amazing service with an great personality. just tops off your dinner. Enjoy!????
