We chose a butternut squash with cream cheese and hazel nuts followed by pig cheek on sauerkraut cabbage and poached red wine pear and ice cream. Delicious

The... read more Each year, my colleagues in our Barr office are tasked with finding a venue for our annual Christmas meal and the choice of L'Essentiel did not disappoint. The chef created a set menu in line with our budget using fresh locally-sourced ingredients and was happy to give us exclusive use of the place even though we were only 14 covers on a Friday night. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone enjoyed the excellent food and wine on offer. Next time that I'm in Barr on business, I will certainly be giving this place another try.
