We decided to try this restaurant for dinner tonight and it turned out to be a wonderful hidden gem. The owner was very welcoming and the food was excellent. I ordered moussaka and my husband had stifado, both served with lemon potatoes. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We slipped through to Darfield for the wedding of some close friends, the venue itself was very nice, the service and staff were friendly. The meal was a little protracted as it took about 40 minutes to serve the first to the last of 24 meals. Maybe chef michael was on a go slow that afternoon. When it came to desserts the waiter came out and said we only have 4 instead of 5 trifles as I have just dropped one The evening reception was a lot better, the buffet was plentiful. Good pub priced drinks plus a good selection, 4 shots for £5 so no complaints there then.
Me and my wife go to The Darfield occasionally for our Sunday dinner and the food is fantastic. It is very good value for money and the portions are massive. The staff are friendly too. The Darfield is a nice little pub and well worth a visit.
It was a family function in the function room, staff are all good the only issue really was getting served at the bar, all drinks had to be fetched from the other bar which made it a slow process. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
