Darfield Fish - Barnsley
Darfield Fish
Description
This once-beloved fish and chip shop has seen a notable decline in both food quality and service under new ownership. Customers lament tasteless dishes, poorly cooked chips, and an unnatural hue of peas that leaves much to be desired. While some diners praise the occasional success of pizza and garlic bread, they overshadow the lackluster traditional fare. Mixed reviews highlight a rollercoaster experience—once enjoyable, now frustrating. With nearby competitors offering better options, patrons are left wondering if this establishment can reclaim its former glory amidst persistent woes. A visit here may leave one craving a more satisfying meal elsewhere.

Can't rate atmosphere as ordered online but the food was great and I didn't have to wait very long to arrive
This was our first and last time visiting this fish and chip shop. The fish cake was undercooked and cold, with soggy batter. The chips were mediocre at best, and I've had better elsewhere. Additionally, they forgot the curry sauce. Overall, we were very unimpressed.
Nice friendly staff happy to chat while you wait food not too greasy worth a visit if your in the area
One of my friends ordered a kebab wrap at 8:30pm and had still not received the delivery when we called at 9:20pm. We were told that the delivery guy had called three times (but there were no missed calls on our phone). Despite the restaurant still being open, they refused to deliver my friend's order. The customer service from the owner was terrible, and I will never order from them myself. The lady on the phone initially seemed pleasant and willing to help, but the overall experience left us with a negative impression. This is a pub that has lost orders from multiple potential customers.
