Real village bar, with tapas and menus quite advisable.

Always recommended and look k are places recommended by these lares. And if you try the menu, get in the way, you'll figure out how much you eat and why little.

Wow worth the wait, myself and friends sure this place on tripadvisor and like the look of the food, but it appear to only be a small locals bar no sign of any food never mind restaurant and by now it was 8.30 on a Saturday evening! I went to toilets out the back to find a large empty restaurant and kitchen so we assumed no food served on Saturday evening, sadly our Spanish is poor as was the lads English behind the bar we decided we have one for the road and go to the restaurant across the road. At around 9 a group of 4/5 people turned up and went into the back and an hour later we were having the most fantastic meal so tasty so rustic and real good value for money. So pleased we waited.

My wife ordered the soup and I had fish with a tomato sauce. Her soup looked like Lipton’s cup of soup. Bushes said it tasted salty. Be advised that the menu is hand written in Spanish and hard to read. The waiter didn’t speak English. My food was good but it’s hard to know what you are going to get. The drink menu is typed and would be nice if they did the same with the food menu. Be advised, they will bring bread to the table automatically and then charge you 1 euro each loaf. You tell them you don’t want it.

As pilgrims walking the Camino del Norte we always hunt those places where we can eat local and nutritious food. After a horrible dinner we were hungry like a wolf and we decided to stop at Güemes for a lunch. You cannot miss the restaurant because it is located just beside the main street next to the church. We just followed the delicious smells : After you enter it looks ike just a bar inside but there is a secret door on your left entering to the paradise.. the restaurant is incredible warm and homy, the portions are fit both workers and pilgrims, so huge. The daily menu was 10 EUR including entree, main dish, bread, dessert, bottle of water and bottle of good wine. They agreed to serve an entree for me instead of the main dish so I ate a bowl of lentils then a bowl of chickpeas with spinach and codfish. Both were made of love and good ingredients. I asked fresh cheese and quinze cheese as a dessert, and I was so satisfied with it, that I forgot to ask a bite from the natillas of my partner.. To drink a coffee after our lunch we went to the bar. According to the locals this is the best restaurant 50km around. We agreed with them at that moment : Thankyou!
