What Naishcombe likes about Peter's:
The range of opinions captures the essence of this distinctive cafe – you'll either adore it or despise it. We found it to be a delightful throwback in time. The tea was superb, with all four of us enjoying a big pot. Three members of our group opted for the apple crumble (reminiscent of a homemade treat), while I chose the whisky cake, which was moist and subtly flavored with whisky. Despite some minor hygiene conce... View all feedback. What IrishConGer doesn't like about Peter's:
Ohh dear... Peter is a nice chap, and the cafe is quaint... and the location is superb. The magic breaks down when it comes to hygiene. The coffee cup I had was cracked on the inside, and the cracks were filthy. This was beaten by the milkjug... also cracked on the inside, and the cracks were filthy... but the 'high-tide ' rings inside the jug put me off completely. The cake from the vitrine was fetched and placed on... View all feedback.

This was a beautiful experience well worth it. The location was superb very personal and enjoyable

Discover the unique charm of Peter's Place in Waterville, a quaint cafe exuding a relaxed and quirky vibe. Delight in delicious homemade cakes and scones, accompanied by freshly brewed coffee. The owner, Peter, is known for his warm hospitality and interesting stories, adding to the overall experience. The cozy atmosphere, complete with antiques and classical music, sets the stage for a memorable visit. While the cafe's decor may be unconventional, the baking is top-notch, reminiscent of grandmother's home-cooked treats. A must-visit for those seeking a break from standard chain cafes, Peter's Place offers a delightful mix of history, humor, and delectable delights.

The decor may be quirky but there is nothing quirky about the baking. Everything is home baked. If you want to know what your granny's baking tasted like, this...
