Had a lovely lunch here yesterday with the family. Really excellent roast dinners and very quick service from the friendly staff. Very lively buzz around the bar. Would highly recommend The Quays View all feedback.
What 941Life doesn't like about The Quays:
The burger was surprisingly odd, I'm not sure what type of meat it was made of, or if it even was meat. I don't think I would return. The bar had a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly, but the food was disappointing. View all feedback.
You can't help but love a pub that threw a birthday party for their 70-year-old fridge! The pub itself is 100 years old and boasts several small rooms with candles and cement floors. It may not be fancy, but the charm and atmosphere are incredible. They have impromptu performances daily and a charming beer garden. I say goodbye to Guinness and hello to The Murphys!
During my time off in West Cork for a few months, I have found my favorite pub in the area - Ma Murphy's. Despite the tough competition, this pub stands out for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly proprietors. Bill and his children Sean and Mary are wonderful people who make you feel right at home. The bar is always packed when there's a match on, and they offer a great selection of beer, ale, and stout, along with tasty bar food options for lunch or dinner. The beer garden at the back and the special back room with a stage and wooden hand-carved bar add to the charm of the place. The staff will welcome you like family and make you feel instantly comfortable. The hidden entrance on Bantry's New Street adds to the allure of Ma Murphy's - once you step inside, you'll feel like you've discovered a hidden gem. I will miss this place when I return to California, but I know I'll be back for sure.
Stop here if you travel through Bantry, you won’t be disappointed, great food and drink, excellent employees, can’t say enough good things about it!
Richard (Paco) is a wonderful owner/ bartender. I noticed the clientele was all addressed by name and, even though we are from out of town, we were made to feel at home. Great conversation and service. Give it a try if you’re in the area! His espresso martinis are as good as the draught beer.
I had the nicest soup, brown bread and turkey and ham here yesterday. Lovely bar and friendly staff and great value for money well worth a visit
