We had a very nice dinner- Campanella pasta with chicken and ham was absolutely delicious! KP Flounder with rustic veggies was also exceptional. The wait staff were friendly, efficient and well coordinated to wherever it was needed. I give a 4 and not a 5 because the drinks are overpriced. A blackberry old fashion(from their drink menu, no prices) was $26! We have had dinner in some high end places and never paid tha... View all feedback.
What Marian Sanders doesn't like about Lp On Main:
Only went in for cocktails. Food smelled amazing, decor was on point, wine list was great, cocktails were bland and flavorless. We felt like the alcohol was watered down. No flavor at all. Blackberry Old Fashioned had no bourbon at all. The Apricot Gin Sour was completely bland. Drinks were mixed in the glass rather than shakers. Very disappointed. $38 for two flavorless cocktails. Absolutely terrible service tonight. We usually love this restaurant but we had a reservation for 8:30pm and didn’t receive our food until 10pm. Our server was absolutely horrendous and the manager seemed busy cleaning wine glasses at the front. We received nothing complimentary and absolutely no apologies. We will never come back. Such an embarrassing night for LP on Main.
LP On Main is THE best meal in the High Country. It's one of those meals that you'll remember for years. We got the BBQ shrimp, lobster poutine, hanger steak, salmon... Everything was perfect. Be sure to order the toffee pudding dessert seriously, it is out of this world. Excellent service, too our waitress had great recommendations and was super knowledgeable. The wine list is fantastic. Their new location is also gorgeous. 5/5 stars for this family owned gem!! Can't wait to visit next time we are back.
Food was great! We came in with a large party last minute due to a different restaurant canceling on us. They where accommodating and food/drinks where great!! Would recommend them to anyone looking for a great date night spot!
In a word, “underwhelming.” Our primary home is in Asheville where there are a multitude of fantastic restaurants, so maybe our expectations are high. We bought a second home at Beech Mountain a couple of months ago, and we’re trying restaurants in the Beech Mountain/Banner Elk area looking for one that really stands out. We thought LP on Main might be it … but it wasn’t. On the plus side, they have a nice porch that accommodates dogs. We were seated right on time … and then no one came back to the table for 20 minutes to see if we wanted anything. They gave us food menus, but no drink menus, so when the server finally asked if we wanted drinks we ordered blind rather than risking another long wait. I had the short rib and my wife had the salmon. Both were good, but if you’re hungry you’ll still be hungry after you eat. My wife asked if we could order some bread … and there’s no bread. We would have had another round of drinks during dinner, but no one asked if we wanted anything from the time our meals arrived until the server cleared the table and asked if we wanted dessert. The highlight was the sticky toffee pudding … quite good. LP on Main has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, tonight it was underwhelming.
My husband and I went there for lunch and everything we ordered was delicious. We shared the fried oysters as an Appetizer and he had the soup of the day, and I had the Arugula salad. The Tyler Chard wine went very well with the meal selection. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back. Atmosphere is very nice and great for couples or a group. They do have a few tables outside, which we chose to do since the weather was so nice.
