Feedback
Evenrood is a handsome, formal downtown Bangor restaurant with beautiful decor, outdoor seating and live music. Its menu delivers standout dishes—lobster Alfredo, ahi tuna, shrimp scampi and memorable desserts—and a solid wine list. Service often impresses, and parking is convenient, but experiences vary: cocktails can be inconsistent and pricey, management and reception have been faulted, and the dining room can become surprisingly loud. Overall, a strong destination for date nights and special dinners, with occasional service and drink inconsistencies to be aware of.
My friends and I dined at Evenrood's last night and we were absolutely impressed! We started with the Buffalo Cauliflower and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, both of which were incredible! The Spinach Dip was genuinely the best I've ever had! For our main courses, we ordered the Pasta Primavera (which was simply delicious), the Shrimp Scampi (light and flavorful), and the Tuna (beautifully presented)! The service was outstanding, and overall, it was our favorite meal during our time in Bangor!
It's not good, just skip it. There are a bunch of great places to eat in downtown Bangor, some in the immediate vicinity. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the visual aesthetics are good. The restaurant used to be a bank and they lean into it, including the original bank vault, which is cool. Some of the food looks good, but the taste is bad. The charcuterie board is an excellent example of this. Their menu items are also mislabeled with their Risotto really being paella. I sent it back when it came since it wasn't what I ordered. Their second attempt was a burnt piece of chicken parm that looked and tasted like it came from an elementary school cafeteria. The service was awful with our waitress disappearing for large stretches of time and then doing little to address our disappointment. Avoid this place and treat yourself to a good dinner elsewhere.
Dear Evenrood, Thank you for last night. It was a beautiful thing we shared. From the ambiance to the Black bear blue shine to the spinach strawberry salad to the lobster Alfredo, it was one fine idea from you after another. Your chef is working hard to bring elevated fresh food with an individual touch and I really appreciated the effort. And that?s not to say that my meat-and-potatoes partner didn?t find your burger divine, ?cuz he did. Staff was attentive and quite pleasant even when one of our party sent back a meal, not charging us and reassuring us that you were only concerned that we enjoy our evening. You left us with a lovely impression of Bangor. Thank you!
Fantastic food and great service. Had a superb Ahi Tuna that was delicious! Wonderful place to eat.
The aesthetic is everything you want in a restaurant, it is a beautiful space. However, zero thought was given regarding acoustics. It sounds like a middle school cafeteria in there. I'm not going to complain about the service because everyrestaurant is short staffed and doing their best. I didn't have any sea food so based on the other reviews, that might be theway to go. The buffalo chicken dip was delicious. The steak is horrendous, it looks like they bought it from Walmart in thebargain section. The enchiladas were mushy and bland. The burger was lackluster at best. You are better off going to Applebee'sto be honest, not to mention Blaze is directly across the street and knocks it out of the park every time you are there.
