I admit that I didn't pay close enough... read more I would rate this restaurant 4 stars for its atmosphere, service, and prices. However, my sandwich was only a 3 at best. I admit that I didn't pay close enough attention to the menu, which specified 'crab dip' rather than crab meat on the Chesapeake Chicken Sandwich. The chicken breast was dry, and I couldn't taste the crab—only the cream cheese was noticeable. On a positive note, the fries were hot and delicious, which was a nice touch. I decided to give the Tavern another try the following day since it was conveniently located next to my hotel. This time, I ordered the Smothered Chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic! I wouldn’t recommend the $35 Crab Cake Platter, though, as it includes just one 4-6 oz crab cake, a small salad, a quarter cup of slaw, and fries. On the bright side, the beer is ice cold!

We recently hosted a private party and had the entire upstairs reserved for the evening. The staff provided a wonderful selection of shareable appetizers, including nachos, chicken wings, veggie trays, mac and cheese, and pasta salad. The bartenders at the open bar were incredibly quick and crafted excellent drinks. We would definitely consider hosting another event here!

Melissa was an excellent bartender who took great care of us throughout our visit. Even when it got busy, she handled everything with ease! The location of the bar is great, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is wonderful on a nice evening. I highly recommend it! Melissa deserves a raise!

The place is really small, you can sit outside, inside at the bar, and there were a couple tables as well. Bartender was very nice. We had the crab dip which was out of this world, the crab soup was good but it was more red sauced based instead of cream based like I love, but still good, a little spicy, and the crab cake platter. The crab cakes were absolutely amazing. French fries were perfection as well. I will definitely visit this place again and over and over when I visit Baltimore.. it's a must go!!

If you're in the downtown area and don't feel like going to Fells Point or Fed Hill, this is a nice convenient location.
