Fantastic local spot for oysters, drinks, and fun. Must have’s are the Nachos and Ultimate Crab Pretzel. The Chesapeake oysters were as fresh and tasty as I have ever had. View all feedback.
What Joep van Ham doesn't like about Riptide by the Bay:
The oysters were tasty and the crab cakes were delicious as well. Unfortunately, the steamed shrimp was a letdown with an overwhelming amount of Old Bay seasoning. The prices in this touristy area were high, making the overall meal expensive. There are better dining choices close by. Additionally, the service was lacking in quality. View all feedback.
A bit painful to drink at the door past the younger crowd at the bar and the singer in the corner right at the door, but when we went up to the restaurant it was great. eating was excellent and I felt that we got excellent worth. server was great, and noise level was just right. very enjoyed.
Baltimore city restaurantweek, I love you! I chose this restaurant for winter restaurant week lunch and I was very happy that I did it. overall I had a very good visit. I went in and was immediately greeted by kelsey. I was informed that I could sit there where I wanted to sit and where I was ever on the level, and they would find me and take care of me. they did. I decided to sit on the 2nd level because it was a bit warmer up there and I could have time for myself to pick up on my yelp. I got menus right away, even though I already knew what I wanted. I ordered immediately and was informed that I did great selection and great selections in the did. I ordered their firecracker shrimp appetizer and B.A.L.T sandwich as my escape. the appetizer was nicely plated! the B.A.L.T is where we have problems, but before I get to it, I'll let the size finish. the french fries I got with my sandwich were so good that I stopped eating my shrimp appetizer because I had to eat every one of these curvy spiced pommes. they were so good! They didn't even need ketchup! this B.A.L.T sandwich was so sad that I cried on my teller. I have a small piece of speck for each half. they gave me all the head of salats and I did not decide to get the avocado and mayo, but 1 miserable piece of speck on every half. from this reason this place gets a 4th only the reason why I didn't give them 3 is because the young lady who helped (kelsey) was fantastic! She was so sweet and friendly. She came all the time to the right time and every time she has to see me, she had to run up to check on little old me and seemed to have no problem with that. I would eat there again, but no possibility in the hell would I order the B.A.L.T sandwich. finally worth a visit!
The crab soup was excellent. the crab cake was full of filler and masked the actual taste of cocks. my entree was three scallops and two asparagus on mushroom risotto. a skalopp was gritty and bland, one was bland and one was so sweet and tasty. the risotto was good, it was crispy of me, the cheese but it was good. I ordered a cheesecake. my server brought my whisper into the box tideup in a plastic bag. I opened it to check and it was just a piece of chocolate cake. it has chased the servers to the attention and she has crushed it and bought the right desert. it wasn't terrible, but I'm not going back
The music was so loud that you couldn't talk. we had to go before we ordered food.
Cute place on the water. very casual. downstairs bar area is small, we came on a saturday and there was a band playing so it was loud, but good music. we were sat upstairs, it was tight, but it worked. there was a super loud party next to us, but that's not the restaurants fault. the food was great. better for groups, maybe not for a nicer date night.
