Was Spiral Tote at Java Moon a mag?
Charming little place with an excellent selection to satisfy your hunger before heading north or wherever your travels take you. You can choose to eat outside in front of the café or inside. View all feedback.

What C G dislikes about Java Moon:
I was disappointed that they were unable to provide me with a cup of ice. Given the current circumstances and the limited number of customers, it's a missed opportunity. But I'll let it go. View all feedback.

Every time I have been here they messed nmy order up, took 15 minutes to correct it and were rude. I really wanted to give them a second chance but they do not deserve it . Just close the business down you do not want to be here

Baltimore 's Penn Station doesn 't offer many food choices. Neither does the immediate neighborhood. In that context, Java Moon is probably the best option available. It 's hidden away in a corner, and I wouldn 't even have known it was there if a friend hadn 't pointed it out. Once inside, I found a bar at one end (didn 't partake there) and some food and soft drink options at the other. Opted for a sausage personal pizza and a cherry Coke. In all honesty, the pizza wasn 't bad. Lots of sauce, lots of cheese and enough sausage to make it enjoyable. It could have been cut better--the cuts didn 't go all the way through, so I had to rip the pie apart in irregular pieces rather than slices--but the taste was OK. Thin crust, and probably a bit larger than most of the personal pizzas you see these days. There 's seating inside the cafe, and more out in a space in the terminal, so there are plenty of places to eat. Service isn 't stellar--while I was there, one of the checkout folks had apparently disappeared, and no one knew where he went--but the people were polite and waits weren 't unreasonably long, although the general indifference was palpable. Bottom line: If you 're in the station and want to grab something to eat, don 't hesitate to come here. If you can eat before arriving at the station, or somewhere closer to your ultimate destination in Baltimore, that 's probably a better option. But eating at Java Moon is still cheaper, more convenient and provides a better meal than eating on the Amtrak cafe car, so it 's a place worth keeping in mind.

I've been coming here about 8 times since I travel to Washington DC regularly. The staff is consistently rude or untrained to do simplest things like make a coffee. Today was the tipping point for me. I order a latte and the make cashier can't make it. I wait about 10 minutes really trying to give him benefit of doubt. I ask for refund and ask for a drip coffee. They take another 5 minutes to start the refund I tell them I'm missing my train and that it is incredible that the manager still wants to charge me for the drip coffee. I tell them how the service is always this poor and they tell me to not come back again. I am a very low maintenance customer and always very friendly to people but this place is just terrible.

Everything is super pricey. I know what you are thinking. It is in a train station. It a no brainer that they will jack up the price. Ut doe the quality of food you get the money is not worth it.

Java Moon, located in Baltimore's Penn Station, offers limited dining options in the area. While patrons appreciate its accessible location and decent food, including a surprisingly tasty sausage pizza, service issues are prevalent. Customers report consistently rude or inexperienced staff leading to incorrect orders and long wait times. Complaints about untrained employees and indifferent service mar the overall experience, with some even expressing disappointment at the treatment received. Despite its few redeeming qualities, many believe that better dining alternatives exist outside the station. Java Moon remains a choice for convenience but falls short of delivering consistently positive experiences.

I want to start by apologizing for my previous comment about never using my debit card at this cafe. I realized I had lent my card to my daughter-in-law to buy some sandwiches before our AMTRAK trip to New York. I have to say, those sandwiches were absolutely delicious! I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions about someone using my card without permission. Aging really brings its own challenges… lol! I look forward to enjoying more food from here in the near future. Best regards, Deborah.

The beers are reasonably priced, and the Happy Hour deals are consistently excellent. If you're out exploring the train circuit and in need of a drink, definitely make a stop here. Plus, their pizza is quite good as well.

Atrocious. The croissant breakfast offering resembled a trampled hamburger roll.

First, I have to apologize for stating a few days ago that I never used my debit card at this Cafe. I never heard of it and forgot I gave my daughter-in-law my debit card to get some sandwiches before we got on the AMTRAK to travel to NY. I must say that the sandwiches were very delicious. Again, I apologize for thinking someone used my debit card. Getting older is no joke.lolololol. I hope to get some more food in the near future. Best regards, Deborah
