We had brunch here. there might have been three vegan options, plus some vegetarians. I had yolandas black bean burger. the burger was sung and good. ketchup was not provided automatically. the service was good. there were two musicians who occasionally play the noise level in the restaurant somewhat. a pleasant place to dinate when you visit this beautiful museum.
I have eaten on the delicious vegan crab cake and the second to dinner after home. I could sit in the attractive bar because I had no midday reservation. the very busy bartender is great
I was at gertrude a few times and got vegan appetizer, escape and dessert selections. I found eating subdued. I have a vegan sweet potato gratin that was underseasoned and too sweet. I also tried to make the house vegan burrata style cheese. it was nothing like burrata, it was just a gritty creature of pure cashew cheese. it didn't taste bad, but it didn't stay on its promise. the vegan desserts were generally good, but the watermelone mojito sorbet was completely exaggerated by pfefferminz extract. another court I once got, a filled tomato, tasted like it was a past before they brought it to me. this could still be a good place to go with omnivore friends/loved as they always provide several labeled vegetarian/ vegan options, but also popular menu options for meat/seafood eater. they also have a good alcohol. added: zucchini crabcakes were excellent. vegan herbal curry was lame and not well seasoned. updated by previous review on 2014-08-12
The vegan zucchini crab cakes really are delicious, and previous reviewers are right, this is a great place for a special event when you are in a group with mixed diets. Our group had an omni but also vegans and vegetarians and we all enjoyed our food. The outdoor seating by the sculpture garden was also really relaxing. The service was a bit distant and the price was a bit on the expensive side, but overall a great restaurant for a special occasion with vegan and vegetarian options.
