The tofu bowl at this restaurant is vegan, as are most of the sides. I ordered the tofu bowl, tempura broccoli, and red beans rice. I highly recommend all of them! Just a heads up, it took me a day to find the restaurant because they are located on the street behind the building. (review updated on 2021-10-05) View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ekiben W 36th St:
I recently visited Ekiben in Hampden and tried the Vegetarian Tofu Bens with broccoli. The flavors were so delicious, with a filling, crispy, and fresh taste that I can't quite describe. The location only offers carryout and is located on the street behind the 36. I parked on the street to pick up my order, but there is also free parking directly opposite the entrance. Finally made it to the last of the three Ekiben’s. We decided to check out the linen night market event which was fantastic with lots of great food and desserts options as well as live music. It also was a beautiful day for it. Like the other locations this one has a small footprint but the food is phenomenal and the experience feels like one of Baltimore’s best kept secrets (although the it’s hardly a secret anymore haha).
This is by far one of my favorite food spots in Baltimore. This is an interesting and delicious Asian fusion. You can't go wrong with either the bun or the bowl and either the chicken or the adobo pork. Besides the delicious food, staff is very nice. This place is a must in Baltimore! Top three are: Spicy shrimp, spicy chicken and the adobo pork!
Broccoli Tempura and Tofu nuggets are delicious. The only negative thing is finding the actual restaurant. You have to go through the back entrance. Took me a while to find the location, so I asked a couple walking if they knew where Ekiben's is located. They showed me and it really is a hidden gem,my GPS was no help, lol.
I had the best experience in this cute place. I was planning to find a Persian restaurant, but I changed my mind due to the recommendations from others, and I'm so happy with my final decision. The beeeeeef bowl is the best!
Really interesting take on their chicken sandwich. The broccoli side was just okay, but interesting. Everybody was friendly. I'd recommend going for the sandwich for sure.
