The food was excellent! The chef put together some creative combinations that were amazing. The service and knowledge of the menu by the staff was top notch. I would definitely go back. Ano also able to BYOB. View all feedback.
Aromes may not be in Hampden after December, They will be moving to Calvert and Redwood Street by the theater downtown. Very creative, 6 course tasting menu only $65. Local purveyors. I remember smoked hay and trout roe with the best potato I ever experienced. The sauces were amazing. Baltimore is lucky to have such a creative New American/French restaurant in the manner of Volt in Frederick. here is the menu for this week: Roasted Squash en brioche, date paste, sour squash dressing Bintge potato, smoked hay cream, lovage oil, trout roe Lobster mushroom dumpling, spiced corn broth Black Bass, lima beans, pistachio dressing, green tomato buerre blanc Beef culotte, salted baked celeriac, peanut satay sauce Concord grape tart
This was our second meal at Aromes, our first since the switch from the previous tasting menu. While the offerings now follow a somewhat more traditional French menu than the original Aromes concept, each dish was still prepared with a twist that made it fresh and novel, and everything tasted wonderful. An example: a dark chocolate mousse cake with homemade wasabi ice cream on the side--a novel combination of sweet and spicy that worked really well. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning about how each dish was prepared. If you are looking for a large variety of selections and portions big enough for leftovers, Aromes is not that kind of a restaurant. But if you want a delicious meal that takes traditional dishes to a new level with unique and sometimes exotic ingredients, flavors, combinations and preparations, Aromes is one of the best places in Baltimore to get that experience.
An excellent evening of locally produced food and a changing menu. We enjoyed excellent french cuisine (duck with honey glaze, steak and frites), brought a bottle or two, and fresh desserts including a chocolate tart and rhubarb sorbet. A quiet evening with conversation and stories from one of the owners. Would visit again!

Expert cooking and a excellent food. Pleasant venue in Hamden; service was friendly and efficient too. Our only disappointment: The portions were tiny, really tiny (half a dozen or so fries with the steak frites, really? and no bread...come on, this is a French restaurant!
