We booked early for Mother's Day lunch and we were glad we did because Brown Hill did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and the 3-course meal was delicious. The Pulled Beef brisket sliders were incredible - tender and flavorful. The salmon was cooked perfectly and paired well with peas, fennel, and crispy mini potatoes. Dessert was also a highlight with mini treats like lemon meringue, chocolate ganache, vanil... View all feedback.
What Abdullah Zemlak doesn't like about Brown Hill Hotel:
I have travelled a lot with work and eaten in a lot of places and believe me when I say one of the worst evenings I’ve had. First people in the restaurant by 10 minutes and got served last after an hour. Lamb shanks to me are two but the one that came out was so tough I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. My girls were so hungry there was tears and even after alerting we hadn’t been served they continued to serve every other... View all feedback.
Delicious Food! Great Service! Excellent Prices! Recently new owners have taken over making the place a bit more enjoyable. Quality overall has increased. You can dine in the Bar or the Bistro. There is an outdoor area aswell, more for those warmer evenings. Regular visits once a week with mates will continue on.
The meals wer pretty average and took a while to come out considering there was only us and another table in the whole dining room. The room was very cold. Only ordered a share plate between the two of us. Chicken was dry. The olives were pretty tasteless and the dumplings had no flavour. The best part of the meal was the squid and the salad. Won't hurry back.
Cold, and boring. A cold night outside and a cold night inside, owner seems to be saving money on heating. Dinner was pub grub, for $16 it was as expected.
I'm not sure how to critically review a Pub - I suppose these days their becoming less pub and more trendsetters and that confuses me because by my definitions they fade from being a pub into being a licensed cafe / sports bar. Anyhow - Brown Hill Hotel is certainly still a pub - genuine, local and good to be way from the grind of the CBD. Staff are great, beer is cold and it's a great place to catch up and have a feed. Probably eaten here a dozen times or so and never had an unpleasant experience.
Chose the bar area over the restaurant. Food came out quick and was amazing. Parma is delicious. The Bar has the option of inside or outside dining. Although the smoking area shares the outside tables. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking. Daily specials. From the small glance I had walking through the restaurant the area is quite large, kid friendly, easily accessible.
