This is just a food stand, in the shape of a viking ship of course, with two outdoor picnic tables. With only about 3-4 eateries in Balestrand, this is the cheapest lunch in town. 80kr/$10.50 Fish N Chips...delicious, and the best deal for Fish N Chips in all of Norway. 55kr/$7.33 Bratwurst...the bratwurst was so long that she cuts it in half. We have been following some of Chun P's recommendations as we tour around Norway. He is usually spot on, but failed us here. The fish and chips are terrible. If you like things soaked and dripping in oil, this is your spot. But the fish is terrible, its just frozen bagged and breaded fish you get at the grocery store. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! The food is delicious and the service is top-notch. There are a variety of options on the menu for everyone, including vegetarians who will not be disappointed.
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, cheap prices (for Norway at least! and the vegetables soup was among the best north of the equator!
Great food and serving. Highly recommended. FYI the restaurant is closed between 15:00 and 17:00.
The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend trying the Vikingburger with extra cheese. You can also enjoy a game of darts while you're there.
We stumbled upon this fantastic small bar-restaurant-cafe-takeaway and were immediately drawn in by the enticing aroma of their food. We were pleasantly surprised by the affordable pricing of their wine, which was the best deal we found in Balestrand. The service was excellent, with the staff always being friendly and welcoming with a smile.
