Did not realise until it was too late that smoking in restaurants is still allowed in Austria and nearly every table there was somebody smoking couldnt get out of...there quick enough never got real taste of the coffee and cake due to cigarette smoke.

Austria has taken a ve... read more A true traditional Austrian café, great cakes served with coffee, tea beer, old photographs on the wall and tobacco smoke wafting around. Austria has taken a very different interpretation of EU law on smoking and allows it in many cafes and restaurants. There is a...non smoking area it is a stark room that you walk through to get to the café proper. It has tables and chairs but no character.

The frankfurters (yes I know, I don't want to know what's in them) were as they should be, and tea and cake were great. The room...itself was very comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Recommended.
