Waffle House - Avondale

I don't normally review establishments like this because I hate being petty. I've been sick all day since eating breakfast here and believe I got a light dose of food poisoning. I wish I had looked around before ordering because the food prep area was pretty disgusting. It's obvious they don't thoroughly clean. I watched as another person's order was just sitting on the counter, getting cold for almost 15 minutes. I was only 1 of three people in there and it took so long because everyone standing around looking lost in space and unhappy. The lack of foresight and hospitality is apparent. I overhear the cook complaining about orders that are coming in. He wasn't shy about it either and apparently hates his job which mean he can care less about the quality of the food or customers. There was a reason this place was nearly empty. Makes you wonder if the franchise owners ever visit their own establishment or even care.

I will say, I came in, sat down, and placed my order almost instantly. Within 3 minutes, I had my grits and waffle. In 5 minutes, I had the rest of my food and was eating.

? ? ? ?PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE WAFFLE HOUSE IN AVONDALE. Okay So boom,…I usually go there every morning after work to get a triple egg omelette with cheese grits and half of the time I go over there they have the district manager working there or they’ll get a “waitress” to make the food even though it’s NOT their job. I used to work there back in June of 2020 and I left because the morning manager ANDREW has always disrespected customers and STAFF MEMBERS. But he lost his mind this morning by approaching me to call me “a pain in the a^!” all because I POLITELY told him to remake it again. He then refused services due to his lack of ability to make an omelet and tried to call the cops on me. I didn’t even tell this man nothing!, he came at me first and called me out my name all because he doesn’t know how to make an omelette. I don’t know who I got to call ?, but he needs to go frfr…..They had so many customers over the years making complaints on him since day 1 and nobody has took action. Now I have to go to Westwego Waffle House all because of him and I LIVE IN AVONDALE ???. And yes I did cussed him tf out because he had no right to come in my face disrespecting me like that. Any other time he’ll make an omelette, but all of sudden you wanna disrespect me for YOUR HALF AS WAYS OF MAKING FOOD.

Food was ok. Well some of it. Grits were either too runny and clumpy or dry and cold. Grilled chicken was a hit or miss. Some was good all the way, others were raw. Waffles… ok. The grill that they made the waffles on was disgusting. Seriously needs to be cleaned. Waitress had a bit of an attitude when we changed our order. Her appearance needed to be better. Apron folded down and very nasty. This was my first time here and it will be my LAST!!! Another, should have followed my first mind and went to ihop!

We eat here often n able to say we have yet to leave unhappy or disappointed. That little thing working the grill knows what she's doing! The best pork chops n bacon cheese steak you'll ever eat. Always happy n polite, I don't think we've ever not received the famous hi welcome to waffle house greeting as we're always greeted with a smile n inviting presence as her station is always good clean, u know for a waffle house lol Even while TWICE last week the poor lady was left alone to be both the cook n the waitress, when usually her daughter waits on us but 2 days in a row noone, now don't get me wrong she absolutely killed it, she always does. But even when left doing it alone still she gonna be doing her thing!!
