Contribute Feedback What Stephen likes about Ugly Crab:
I had no idea what to expect my first visit, even after I ordered. I had the shrimp and mussels combo with oysters as an appetizer. The oysters are the same quality you'd find down South...amazing! The combo was more than I could eat and was just as fresh and tasty with endless drinks! Yes, it's pricey...but if you love seafood like I do, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. We'll be back! What Shandolyn Parks doesn't like about Ugly Crab:
The fries were excellent, but this is primarily a seafood restaurant. Unfortunately, both the catfish and whiting we ordered were overcooked and dry. They didn’t have coleslaw available and seemed irritated with us for misunderstanding their English. The staff appeared to prioritize other customers. Overall, we left feeling disappointed. The next stop in my travels. Avon, Indiana. Driven by it many times but never stopped in. Today was the day. I'm impressed. My food was very good and hot. I asked for the recommended sauce and it was a great choice. Folks, if you are looking for fresh seafood, better than Red Lobster, then look no further. Thank me later. You can order ahead and pick it up. I'm sure you can have a food delivery service pick it up for you.

Being from New Orleans, this was some great boiled seafood! In Louisiana the boil seasoning already makes the seafood spicy and flavorful. It's different to have the sauces poured on top, but they are yummy. (More customizable for customers . Shrimps come heads off and cleaned bougee but I'm not complaining (haha . It transported me and my husband back home. BTW (we don't use bibs or gloves down South. Sink next to the drinks was helpful! .
Had an amazing Friday evening here. Love how they are decorated for Christmas and the music is at a perfect volume to enjoy but still converse. I'd say this place is comparable in taste to the boiling but a tad cheaper. I also felt a lot more welcomed upon entering and then later when we were even offered a buttered croissant! It tasted great! We ordered a pound of shrimp, pound of king crab legs, and a pound of snow crab legs along with sausage.
Awesome selection here. If you want crab on the westside, this is the place to go. Similar format to other walk in seafood eateries I've been to throughout the country. You enter, order your food and they bring it to your table complete with a splatter mat (bib and gloves. Several spices to choose from or mix them all together. Even the wings taste great here. Price is equivalent to other crab and seafood eateries. It's not McDonalds folks, it's the real deal. Bottom line is...the food is great, the service is friendly but not overbearing, and the cost is about average for a crab house....and they just added beer to the menu, so I know I can talk my brother into going. : Well worth it!
