The Lost Lei - Austin
The Lost Lei
Description
Nestled downtown, the new tiki bar promises an exciting cocktail experience but falls short in several areas. While some drinks impress with strong flavors and stunning presentations, others, like the overly sweet zombie, miss the mark. The ambiance, intended to evoke a tropical paradise, instead resembles a cramped nightclub with minimal decor and overwhelming noise, lacking the intimate charm one might expect. Service quality varies, with enthusiastic bartenders on some nights, but overall knowledge is inconsistent. Though the cocktail offerings are fun, the venue needs to better fulfill its tiki theme and enhance the overall atmosphere to truly captivate patrons.

Not worth the visit. It's just a typical bar with a Tiki theme—nothing out of the ordinary. The drinks were decent, though.
Fantastic lil place with cocktails that will blow your mind. They look girlie foo foo but man they are delicious! Nolan, our Bartender/Entertainment for the evening was truly a badass. His drinks were tendered and garnished with the utmost skill and his knowledge of the booze and ingredients were spot on. (I bartended for 15yrs). Also his knowledge of the establishment was excellent. Fantastic lil place, lighting and ambiance were on point, and Nolan was a stellar addition to the evening. Thanks Again Nolan!
Drinks were great, but we went because we needed snacks with alcohol. You need something to eat when people drink.
The zombie drink had absinthe and cinammon in it, tasting overly sweet without the classic fresh fruit juice/flavor that the drink typically has. It was a huge drink at $16, but I couldnt finish it because it was not easy to drink. The ambiance is essentially a club with some tiki motifs. Around 8pm on a Saturday night, as people began to fill the place, the music turned from island vibe to club-y. I guess overall, the place cant decide who to appeal to: club crowds or people who love tiki drinks.
