I don’t normally write reviews, but this place was so good it really hit the spot after day long conference sessions. The food was exquisite with beautiful flavors, the perfect spiciness for my palate. I ordered the spicy beef yakiudon, and the flavor exceeded my expectations. Several of my business partners whom joined me to dine ordered various other dishes, and we were all in agreement that the place was excellent... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Southcloud Ramen:
I would appreciate it if the restaurant would stop serving ramen, as it seems like the chefs do not care about the quality of their food. I feel sorry for anyone who enjoys eating their ramen. It seems like they do not know what good food tastes like. The broth was disappointingly bland and the chashu pork was the worst I have ever had, tasting more like boiled meat than anything else. I just picked up an order from this place and I am currently eating while typing this. I was really craving some good ramen and dumplings but this meal is sooo disappointing. Broth and meat from my ramen are lacking flavor, the meat tasted almost microwaved? The pork dumplings I got are also extremely flavorless. : very disappointed
It 's confusing how this establishment manage to maintain business with its undeniable poor quality, taste, presentation and pricing for their food. The ramen broth appears thick but taste incredibly bland; noodles are simply tasteless as well. The yakiudon...really?? Is it even considered yakiudon? Is it considered a dish? It 's the one of the most unappetizing thing a person can witness...it sadly makes fast food look better. Appetizers may be from the frozen food section, but people most likely can prepare it better at home...other people 's rice bowl must be below standard as well since they only took 3 bites of it and ready to move on...it 's just SO bad. It 's so bad, you would think their pricing would be lower BUT NO, their pricing is actually more than most legitimate ramen restaurants in Austin...so how it manages to stay in business?? It 's a mystery! But regardless, why suffer when you can get significantly better food elsewhere. Lastly, it must be noted that this place has cleanliness concerns...the dining room is grimy. Something gotta be wrong with their air ventilation. There are leaks and it wasn 't even raining that day. I mean most restaurants over there are in old establishments, so it 's challenging to look its best, but at least try... All in all...there are so many things that this place must improve on in order to survive this competitive restaurant industry. In the meantime, skip your remote curiosity and quickly move on to anywhere else...thank you, NEXT.
I was expecting fried rice not plain White rice in my order. I wasn't impressed with the food when I tasted it, so I added 1 scrambled egg in butter with garlic, 4 shrimp, green onion and diced jalapeños to my order of shrimp fried rice and enjoyed it royally!! I even had left overs for lunch the next day. So I'd order there again in order to acquire the base meal for an evenings treat. I will try something else while looking for a favorite spot.

The ambiance of the restaurant suited the purpose of the establishment, allowing us to enjoy the experience as well as the food. A lovely place to grab noodles in Austin.
To give credit both the veggie broth and kimchi broth were perfect and delicious. But the noodles tasted like $1 ramen, the sides were missing (Postmates order) and my biggest complaint is the lack of corn from 2 different ramen bowls that had it as a topping, one of which was the veggie bowl where you?d think veggies would be strongly featured. Also the veggies that were preset in the veggie bowl looked like they were cut in a paper shredded and poorly cooked. The ajitama egg was only half of an egg which was a little disappointing but well cooked and marinated.
