Salt Time - Austin

Our experience at Salt Time was exciting. The restaurant truly pays attention to the quality of the ingredients they use to construct their dishes. A couple of things to mention was the overuse of salt in many of the dishes, the pasta dishes of the week for Feb. 13th was extremely salty, which took away from the amazing mushroom sauce that was made for the handmade pasta. The pasta itself was well prepared except for the clumping of some vermicelli stands probably could try dusting with a bit more semolina flour. The seasoning on the burger was also excessive, and simply overwhelmed the palate. The best dish of the meal was the chicken mousse which was divinely silky and smooth. The pickle place was heavy on vinegar and could be more interesting if diversified with other types of fermentation techniques. The waiting staff could spend a little bit more of time explaining what's on the dishes especially the season plates with rotating options such as the pickle plate.

Not as good as it use to be. Used a great deal of salt and fat in the food to cover something up.

The worst service my husband and I have ever received. I read the previous reviews about the service being slow but we decided to give it a try. We where seated promptly and once our waiter finally arrived, who had been chatting with tables around us, we ordered drinks, an a appetizer and hamburgers. 30 minutes later we had not received the appetizer nor our meal and I had to remind the waiter about the ice tea ordered. Another waiter dropped off our food and our waiter didn't check on us. The most frustrating part was that the restaurant was not busy and our waiter checked on all the tables around us. Once we finished our meals, we had to flag down the waiter and ask for our ticket. The waiter did not provide an itemized receipt for us to find out if we had been charged for the ordered appetizer that we did not receive. We asked the waiter about the appetizer and waiter said no you where not charged...it would of been nice to see the ticket. Food was decent but I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had a wonderful meal and great, friendly service. The salumi plate is excellent!
