If I were just reviewing the butcher shop this would be 5 stars. They have some really good and interesting cuts of meat. We’ll definitely be stopping by every time we’re in Austin to have them vacuum seal some different cuts to bring home. Beento the restaurant twice. One for New Years a couple years back and it was a pre fixe menu. Now most recently for brunch. Everytime it’s great food and a good choice for anyone wanting steak. I removed a star only because both times our service waslacking and most recently our orders came out missing the accoutrements listed on the menu. Even when asked we were told thatwas incorrect until we saw another order of the same come out as listed on the menu. Very rich food. Come hungry
SLOW SERVICE BLUNT FOOD It’s a cute place and I like the idea behind it, but we waited almost an hour for the food, and it came soooo underwhelming it’s surprising. The steak was one of the worst of my life, chewy; the burger all unbalanced: toomuch beef, under seasoned, and the fries weren’t even fresh. The whole experience was very disappointing. Never again!
Best muffaletta I've had in town, hands down, and better even than some I've eaten in New Orleans. The burger was simple and very flavorful. We added cheese (cheddar) for $2 and it's worth the extra $2. We requested medium rare and were pleased with theoutcome. I normally say that Casino El Camino is my favorite burger in town, but I haven't been there since before the pandemic,so I'll have to go revisit so I can find out if they've finally been toppled or not. Either way, very juicy and delicious burgerwith a ton of flavor. The fries weren't my favorite, but I did enjoy the house-made charcuterie board with cheese very much. Thecold brew tea was a treat as well!
Had the steak salad and I was in heaven eating it. The quality of the hangar steak plus being cooked to perfection was a delight. Also had a few old fashions which didn’t disappoint. Staff was great and ambiance was in point. Will be returningsoon.
Well I have to say this was an experience. You know how you know when something is an epic fail? Well this was. I have to give you some advice and a heads up with this place.. 1. Don't go before 4pm if you want an early dinner. They do have happy hourmenu but they don't serve dinner until 5pm. It was an interesting place that seems to have an identity crises. The manager walksaround sucking on a water bottle but does not come over to see how things are going. When Susie told him about our order issueshe never once came over to see what the issues where. 2. Order the beef fat fries which are the best thing on the menu. Sodelicious!! 3. Don't be in a hurry to eat..we ordered at 5pm but did not get our food for over 45 min. 4. Susie who was thehostess ended up helping us because the waitress who was supposed to serve us ignored us. Susie was sweet and very nice. (Mindyou there were people at the bar but we were the only table seated at the time. She is the blonde lady in the picture) so notbusy. 5. If you don't drink ask for ice for your water. We received a bottle of warm water. You need to ask for ice. Now on tothe food..ask a lot of questions because the menu does not give you any details of what they do to your steak or veggies. Weordered Angus Bavette medium and Wagyu Ambassador medium rare. Mine came with a thick burnt salt on top and it was Luke warm, myhusband's was burnt and also lukewarm and he ordered it medium rare. (See pictures) when you cut off the edge it tasted okay. Also the menu for the steak is only for steak it does not come with sides. My husband got the fried okra (see picture) this wasnot fried..maybe pan seared but floppy and was the only thing that was hot but definitely not fried. It was not good. Susie wassweet and took it off our bill. Okay aside from all that here is my last warning...they tack on a 15% service charge so theycan pay their employees a living wage (which in turn they pass onto you). Now that is not the tip a
