This was our second visit to the Saltwater Grill. The food was delicious and the service second to none. We will definitely dine here again on our next visit to Galveston.
The food was delicious. The waiter was a little below par in terms of skills. I didn't care how they ran out of bread. It was very loud in the section we were sitting in. But all in all it wasn't a bad experience, it just didn't knock my socks off.
The saltwater grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu was updated with new items while keeping some of their best offerings. I swear the Shanghai Delight is strewn with Prozac because I am always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings in the hope that the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crispy and caramelized, but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I missed the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something substantial, so I was pretty disappointed when a small pot of crackers showed up instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was fine to hear my companions but there was no way I could hear the waiter well.
Awesome Indian and Nepalese dishes. Their chicken tikka masala is really good and I enjoy their momos a lot. The chicken chow mein was surprisingly good as well! I haven't dined in but have ordered takeout a few times and I've always been satisfied. The portions are very generous as well.
